It's stange how things turn out. It was wrote long before all the trouble with Micheal's private life. It certainly got me thinking about how your upbringing can have a big inpact on ones life.
Well worth a read. I don't like to discuss the contents in reviews because i think it can spoil it for the person who is thinking of buying and reading the book, but i will say that i think the parents have a lot to answer for. It has made me realise that a lot of Micheal's and his siblings' problems stemmed from their weird and very strict parents. Sad really.
strange considering it was a book that was considered quite negative. To be honest with the exception of
some rather dramatic and very questionable claims, Latoya actually speaks quite fondly about her family
in particular Michael. (we already know about Joseph, so the fact that she bashes him through out the book does not count)
The closeness she shared with Michael in their youth really touhed me, she paints
Michael out to be the perfect brother, a brother sent from Heaven. Its heartwarming reading about the
familys early days in Gary and then the rags to riches tranformation to a new life in Calafornia.
Its facinating and inspiring and despite their problems, this is a family who truly love eachother.
The book is also well written and very discriptive.
I relly enjoyed this book so much in fact that i my partner the loan of it and she is currently enjoying it. A highly recomended book.
