im a noob in the droid box market and ive been hovering over buying one of these units for about a year, so i went ahead and purchased this one mainly based on the fact it was fulfilled by amazon, unit is small has virtually replaced my aging laptop allows me to do a bit of online banking, play my fave games on the google playstore and stream loads of current and older movies and tune in radio which i love, the remote keypad that comes with it is useless but i already had a sumvision wireless keyboard and mouse which i used with the onlive console system, the sumvision works great with the droibox, for the price i paid im happy with what ive got.

still using this after about a year only use for xmbc now which works ace, agree with everyone the remote is useless
but as said i had wireless keyboard and mouse any way.

Seems to work well enough though my main use is to watch live TV. TVcatchup seems the best app for this but only available in SD. Recommended if this is actually what you want! Wished it would do Sky Go but thats up to Sky so wont hold my breath. Useful for big screen Internet. Solid enough at this price point limited by apps. Needs wireless keyboard/mouse and my Logitec works well. A couple of games didnt work but have not fully tested these features.

Many of the functions, including DLNA do not work. Picks up devices, just won't stream. Manufacturers are not interested in any issues. I would advise any against buying this item. You'd be better buying an android tablet that actually does what it is supposed to.

this only worked half the time and needed constant reboots - had to send it back. In the end I bought a pre-built RaspBerry Pi.

I think that this box is an excellent go between where it comes to the TV and the Internet interfaces it can be a little difficult to use at first especially the basic remote control that comes with it is really useless, you need to purchase a better recommended remote. The system has a tendency too crash quite often, my personal opinion from use is that the internal storage is too small and the Ram memory is limit at this time to only 1GB of Ram, also although I have installed a 32GB SD card, when downloading apps they do not automatically get sent to this cards and you get the the system stating that you have insufficient memory, although when you check the internal memory it tells you that you have over 2GB free for some reason this upper memory cannot be accessed and this causes a lot of issues with App downloads, although I have spoken to the firm that produces these boxes the advice given does not work and the system is not easily accessed like an Android phone, these need to be improved or a software produced to solve this issue

Opened box, plugged it in, the splash screen came up and was greeted with the most unfriendly interfaces I've ever seen. The remote only works about once every five presses, and even when it does, then (depending on what application you're in) the box sometimes does something, though not usually what you asked of it. It also hangs - a lot - and by "a lot" I mean more often than it doesn't, after approx 10 restarts I managed to get it to the settings screen (all previous attempts hung on selecting an icon), and this time it seemed more stable, so set up the network checked for updates etc, then downloaded the bbc I player, which although started ok, won't actually let you play anything back because the remote won't allow you to select a program. Then I installed lovefilm instant and got some content working, it paused and lagged so badly it wasn't watchable.... Thought a restart might help, but alas now we're back to locking up after several presses of the remote before leaving the first screen.

I'd like to think mine was faulty (the remote receiver perhaps), but even with the remote issue resolved, it's still slow and practically useless from any other angle....

Avoid!

I purchased this to watch UK TV as a replacement for a faulty unit from another supplier. It worked a treat.......but I could not put my VPN app on to it as it was not compatible with the hardware,(I live in Portugal), so it had to be returned. Otherwise it seemed like a good unit.
