I tried the free version and loved it so much I paid for the full version. The free one worked on most of my music, but a few formats were not covered in the free version and rather than change my music I paid the small price to upgrade, and now everything works great. This lets you sort music by SONGS, ARTIST, PLAYLIST, FOLDERS, GENRES, COMPOSERS, all in alphabetical order so it is easy to find what you are looking for. The menu also offers the chance to sort by title, date added, and album. You can set songs as ringtones etc too. Mine started with a blue theme colour, but this too can be changed and there is an equaliser. All in all, well worth the price with so much choice.

I have tried most if not all the half decent music players for Kindle and had almost given up. I did not want to pay for a player but in the end the fact that I could play the WMA tracks I own as well as the MP3's et al proved to be a deal breaker (though this was something of a punt as they did not stipulate this in the blurb). After using it I could not believe how well it organized my music, previously I would have multiple albums showing for collections which should have been on a single album. Most of the players will simply ignore folders and files they cannot play and will not even list them, Rocket Player shows and plays them all. I am delighted - my music is organized (all of it). additionally I got the album cover app, not sure I will keep it (7 day trial) but did find covers other players could not, only failing on one album by the Milltown Brothers (Valve). Now I can happily Bluetooth all my music through my Marshall Kilburn amp with a look on my face which says "here sits a man who is control of his world", OK so I may be going too far, but you know what I mean, nothing nicer than having something which does what it should....

I downloaded the free player and was so impressed I paid for the unlock. It was excellent. Easy to use and made the best of the kindle fire's speakers. Loved it from Chopin to Type O Negative. Then came the update. The player will not play half my music. So frustrated. Uninstalled and installed it again but no better. It does show the content as present but no tunes. Looks good but of no practical use. The kindle mp3 player is back in use and I miss the use of the equaliser and the other great features of Rocket but at least I have my tunes back. Have it a two star because for the tunes it plays the quality is excellent.

Save your money if you have a hudl2, I've sent all manner of system reports and feedback and nothing has fixed the issue with Lolipop 5.1 on the Hudl2
it just crashes and will only play if you uninstall the unlocker.
Sorry Guys, gave you a good chance to fix this.

Started using the Rocket Player free version a couple of months ago and found it to be a great music app, so moved up to the premium version.
I've tested a number of free music player apps over the past 6 months and liked Rocket the best. It's simple, but has enough options to fit my needs.
Remember, though, that music player apps are a deeply personal choice, and my idea of what makes a really good music player app may not be everyone's idea of a good player. I happen to find Rocket to be a great little app, and the premium version added a few extra features that made it perfect for me.
Try the free version for several weeks and see what you think.

Brilliant just migrated from iPhone to Android this allows playback of Apple Lossless so quality far exceeds the MP3 quality I had to use on my iPhone (due to lack of storage capacity)

Rocket is an excellent music player, and certainly an improvement on the Kindle's built in system where more often than not you find yourself missing artwork, WRONG album artwork or albums are alphabetized wrongly. Aside from great, seamless playing, this little player - which comes with an equalizer and customizable skins - allows you to pick album art yourself and displays the images crisply as, again, opposed to Kindle's Amazon player which regularly displays out of focus album art because it's using low res icon sized jpegs. It's well worth getting, especially if you're someone who wants your music library to not be a bunch of blank covers.

Very good I was giving up on using my Kindle Fire for music because the Amazon player is far to complicate, ie could Not find my music among all the other stuff.
Very pleased, well done guys.
