Sharon Tregenza's writing will no doubt keep children interested in following the story through to its conclusion. This is a great little adventure with a hint of mystery thrown in for good measure. The cover is what first attracted me to the book - it's almost cartoon-like with lots of bold colours.
Many thanks to BooksGoSocial for an ARC. I was not required to post a review and all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
This is a very cleverly plotted novel with plenty of excitement and adventure - but it's also beautifully written. The description of the aftermath of the sinkhole is absolutely convincing, and the setting is evocatively described - for example: '...a stream of bats swarmed out of the ruined roof of the Spoke. They poured like smoke into the dusk...' Beautiful.
Griffin's mum discovered a valuable Aztec knife, the Jewelled Jaguar which is returning to Pembrokeshire when all the trouble begins.
'The Jewelled Jaguar' is a great story to read. It's a real page-turner with memorable characters and an intriguing mystery to solve. It reminded me of reading a modern day Enid Blyton story. I will definitely be reading the other books by Sharon Tregenza. I can't wait!
