I requested the JAPONESQUE Pro Performance Lipstick, Shade 07, from the Amazon Vine Program. Usually, Mom wears various shades of pinks and reds. The JAPONESQUE Shade 07 looked great on her. Surprisingly, it did make her lips appear fuller. I was skeptical until I saw her wearing the lipstick.
She said the lipstick went on easily and came off easily. It does have moisturizers. Mom said her lips felt good wearing the lipstick as though it was lip balm. Most importantly, she has worn it for several days in a row and hasn't experienced any type of allergic reaction. Mom is like me; if a product will cause allergic reactions, she will be the one to experience them.
Mom definitely plans to keep wearing the lipstick until it is gone. It came in a box that is perfect for gift giving. The lipstick tube looked very elegant, stylish, and attractive. I highly recommend the JAPONESQUE Pro Performance Lipstick because of its easy application and long-lasting attractiveness. Also, it does make lips look fuller.
I don't know if the lipstick made my Mom's lips appear sexier. (JAPONESQUE claims that it will.) You will have to ask the old men sitting on the benches at West Town Mall--the ones who kept staring at her as we strolled past them.
It's a pretty wine color shade that goes well with my fair skin and dark hair. The case is very nice, a sturdy dark plastic that shows the color at the bottom and the top (helps to take away the guess of 'what color is this' if you have a busy make-up bag/case/drawer).
One thing I noticed right away is that the lipstick itself is 'curved' at the tip, or indented so it fits over your lip. This is very helpful to get that cleaner lip line when applying the lip stick, though it'll be interesting to see how that wears down with use. It's a nice touch.
The lipstick itself is very creamy when you apply it on and goes on very smoothly. There's no obvious scent or taste to it, and my lips don't feel dry or tacky as the day wears on. The lipstick does a good job of staying ON the lips without any bleed (especially good with such a dark color).
Japonesque Pro Performance lipstick does a really good job of lasting through the day and normal wear, which impressed me. There is a bit of color transfer to the lips due to the pigment of the lipstick, and again, it doesn't dry them out (guess it does live up to the moisturizing aspect). The performance and the fact that this lipstick is so creamy makes me want to try out more colors, as does the price. The current price of $20 is NOT bad for a high end performance lipstick at all.
Not too sure about the 'volumized lips' bit, though. Sometimes I feel a tingle, similar to what I get from the Buxom lips gloss, but not often. Don't know if they have a similar plumping agent in this lipstick or what...
The formula is super pigmented and lasts all day (at least 9 hours until I finally just took it off). Normally when a lipstick lasts all day, it dries out my lips, but not this. The Japonesque is super buttery and creamy. It applies smoothly, like lip balm, and my lips felt moisturized and soft all day. Normally if a lipstick is moisturizing, it doesn't stay on very long. Only YSL and Japonesque has combined the two perfectly, but Japonesque goes even a step further. The lipstick lasted a bit longer than YSL and the pigmentation was just slightly better.
I love the curved tip of the lipstick, which makes application easy, though of course that may wear down over time if you don't take care to maintain the shape. I also love the big color swatch on the bottom of the lipstick, it makes picking a color for the day even easier. I also love the slightly matte color - I say slightly because it isn't exactly matte - it has a very slight sheen, but it isn't glossy.
As far as plumping goes - meh. I often use Buxom lipsticks, which claim to have the same effect, but I honestly don't notice a difference, either with this or Buxom, in the size of my lips. I do get a minty tingle now and then, but no plumping. There is also very little smell or flavor to this lipstick, which I like. But the plumping effects are not the reason to buy this lipstick - the perfect formula and pigmentation is the reaso0n. Absolutely worth the $20, which is almost half the price of YSL, and I plan on buying every single color.
