Born and raised in Stockport, I was an only child with fantastic parents, a few good friends and a very local library, thankfully, because I LOVED reading. I also longed for a piano and eventually got one - and then another (because my daughters and a few of their friends play too). I also enjoy puzzles, so there are lots in my books, and I run a site for fellow code fans: www.juniorcodecrackers.com.
I have 2 daughters and a husband. We enjoy being with friends, family outings and games, our current favourites being Cluedo, Scrabble and Rummikub. We never go away without a pack of playing cards, plus our Kindles and lots of books. (What if the Kindles broke down?)
I have worked in the agrochemicals, aluminium and electrical engineering industries in a variety of sales and marketing roles. At Oxford University I studied Chemistry. At school I loved English, Latin, algebra, French, German, chemistry theory and cookery.
But my passion has always been stories - I consume them in books, on TV, in films, in the theatre and online. And write them!
