The autobiography of legendary UFC announcer Bruce Buffer
From the Inside Flap
A decade and a half ago, I gambled my livelihood on a dream. I gambled on an incredible partnership with a long-lost brother that made it all happen.
How did I get here? How did I earn the right to be in the Octagon? How did I get to surround myself with some of the world's most talented athletes? How did I get to travel the globe in service to the world's greatest sport?
It's time I told you.
If you're a fan of Mixed Martial Arts and the Ultimate Fighting Championship, you've certainly seen Bruce Buffer and heard his legendary ringside announcements. But do you really know him? And do you have any idea of the stories he has to tell?
Bruce is ready to take you on a behind-the-scenes tour of the world of mixed martial arts as only he can - sharing his own journey to becoming the Voice of the Octagon along the way. Bruce has been at the heart of the UFC for fifteen years. He's seen every big personality come and go, and has had a front row seat for every fight - including those that take place outside the ring. In IT'S TIME he draws on that access to show us the league as only he can, telling never-before-heard stories about its most famous figures, revealing surprising details behind its most controversial fights, and giving us a front-row seat to the growth of the sport over the years from its bad old days to the phenomenon it is today.
The fighters change, but Bruce remains the constant in the cage. This book is a must read for anyone who's ever wondered what goes on beyond the ring.See all Product Description

I picked up the book for a number of reasons, some for Bruce specifically, and others to understand more about the UFC from an insider's perspective.
Bruce delivers his life story, and stories of colleagues and friends, with honesty and respect, and his words alone seem to be written straight from the heart. Although the book addresses most of his life, it is amazing how much he has accomplished in a short space of time. His ambition, drive, enthusiasm and passion should be an influence to any reader.
An easy and thoughtful read, for both MMA fans and everyone else.
To explain the book, let me give a brief introduction to Bruce Buffer, trust me whatever I say does not do him justice. He is:
a successful business man/consultant
a respected mentor to young fighters
a lifelong martial artist
a semi pro surfer
a professional gambler
a motivation speaker
a playboy (even at the age of 48 when this book was published)
and a ring announcer
He even sometime turns in to Buffer-man and beats up beach bullies, back up his friends in bar fights; these friends include Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz, & B J Penn to name a few.
This book reads part motivations self-help book, to real world business models that could be applied to any walk of life, to martial arts, never backing down, surrounding yourself with the right people and most of all be 100% passionate about what you do or don't bother. Bruce Buffer (BB) seems to lead a charmed life. I have no doubt his work extremity hard to get where he is because in his own words "Buffer-isms" he does not do anything by halves a trait he learned early on from his dad. He writes his book in the same way. GSP in his book ...Read more ›
Overall a disappointing book , I cannot understand why this book is so poor in content.
I am a diehard fan yet if I could unread this book I would.

All my friends want to be GSP or Jon Jones.
I would rather be Bruce Buffer.
Read this and revel in the story of a self made man, a man's man and a ladies man.
