From the Publisher

Be an instant success with It's Easy To Bluff!
Most electric guitar players like their music heavy, but... How many of us really know the difference between Death Metal and Big Girls' Blouse Metal? Most metal guitarists are so good - surely it takes loads of practice? Which bands' riffs are cool, and which ones will get you laughed out of the guitar shop? Never mind! It's Easy To Bluff gives you all the skills you need. You'll not only learn to play some impressive riffs and licks, you'll discover everything you need to bluff your way through any metal gig. You'll get advice on the right instrument, authentic metal-speak, and famous names to drop. There's even a guide to all the different types of metal, with - most importantly - a coolness rating for each one. What are you waiting for? Show them what you've got! It's Easy To Bluff.

This book is a very enjoyable digest of the history and styles of Metal, froms Blues-Metal to thrash metal to alternative metal. More than that, the reviews are well written and individual bands and styles are given a cool rating as well as a concise history. More than that, the book provides ideas and excerises into techniques, setups and styles used in playing metal and gives tablature. I was quite impressed with the amp and effects settings guides aswell. The only problem I have with this book is that it leaves you begging for more and can be read too quickly as it's so enjoyable. Buy this one ! It's well worth the money.

Perfect. If you're into metal or rock and know your guitar basics (anyone learn classical at school and now all grown up?) this book will give you enough flash to impress a lighthouse keeper in a jiffy! Trouble is this metal stuff is addictive and leather trousers are mighty expensive. Seriously though, a great guide to sounding like the pro's in no time. The real added bonuses are the 'grow a metal attitude in no time' sections which impart that all-important facet of muso culture, namely knowing a little and implying you know a lot more!!! Nice one Joe!
