It is sad that in so many of our UK churches teaching and sermons involving the OT are rare or absent. I have bought this volume and Volume 2 (see my review) to go with Volume 1 that I already own. They are for my own personal use and study, not part of any academic course. I was privileged to study OT under Dr Goldingay when he taught at St John's College, Nottingham in the UK. Dr Goldingay has the happy knack of making the OT understandable and interesting. I am looking forward to increasing my depth of knowledge of the OT writings. I shall enjoy this study and do recommend this volume and its companions to any one seeking a deeper understanding of the OT
Goldingay has a well earned reputation as a great OT theologian. This third and part of the series brings to completion a reference work that you will value for ever. Having a different structure to and a lot more pages to develop than the excellent primer offered by Routledge, and somehow a broader perspective than Brueggemann's great and laudable offering,I now feel that I have all I will need to consult in an overview of OT theology for my own bookshelves. As a student of theology and a teaching Pastor, this has been a great investment.
