At first I expected this book to be thorough breakdown of Iron Maiden's history and in-depth detailing behind the creation of Iron Maiden's back catalogue but it's not that...
And yet, what Martin Popoff offers is more of a discussion, he gathers his friends and celebrating friends to discuss what they think about each album coming from casual fans and diehard Maideneers alike. The book is really pretty and has some great unseen photos from across all the eras and it's gold lies in hearing people like Chris Jericho and a few others who really manage to get the core of what they think these albums are about and offer their own opinions and theories about what makes Maiden great. I think this book is a great sideway into enjoying everything Maiden has to offer and a lot of cool insights from people you might not expect who share some really cool talk about one of the best heavy metal bands in the world.
