The Iolite Wispr vaporizer is the newest portable vaporizer from the makers of the Iolite. Featuring improved technology and a new look, the Wispr delivers smokeless freedom with style. Utilizing a patented butane heater system, the Wispr delivers up to 3 hours of on-the-go vaporizing. With no batteries to recharge, "recharging" the Wispr is as easy as refilling the butane. And with the new fuel level indicator you'll know how much butane is left at all times. The Wispr is designed to maintain the optimal vaporization temperature of 374 ° F. Butane is converted to heat in an isolated chamber and expelled from the Wispr as water vapor through the escape ports ensuring a healthy, flavorful experience. Manufactured according to strict ISO 9001-2001 guidelines and featuring a 2 year manufacturer's warranty. Your purchase includes a portable Space Case w/ carabiner. Made from high impact ABS and stainless steel hinges. Airtight, dust proof, water resistant with built in rubber O-ring. Approx. Dimensions:5" x 3" x 2"

I have dropped it twice now just to test it. I trusted that it would not be an expensive test. I was not dissapointed. The simplicity of the Wispr will be easy for those who may be all thumbs. Old, arthritis fingers have no problems. The butane lasts, as the ad states, 3 hours. Give or take 1/2 hour depending on how heavy or light the usage is. A can of good 5X butane is needed, but a can lasts along time.
I really like how the wand is flexible and lays in it's own channel out of the way. The filling chamber is simply pressed into the rubber wand. The rubber does a great job insulating the heat from the metal chamber. Also I really like the ignition switch. Two posistion switch that has immediate ignition on every attempt.
The heating element has quick heating times and burns clean. There is a little smell coming from the catalytic proccess. It is not bothersome even within a closed room. It was reported the the exaust is harmless. Mostly water vapor. I have to agree. I can feel the dampness near the exaust.
Although I find the chamber small it has enough room to accomodate 2-3 people. Better with just two. The heat is fortunately set at a really good vape temperature. No adjustments can be made.
The price is not out of line. It is quite a bit more than the very capable Iolite, but it is overall a much better design and build than it's predecessor. By direct comparison of the two I believe the Wispr will out last two or more of the Iolite. As careless as I am!
Overall, with the very minor shortcoming's, this is a great little unit. I expect it to last. I would give it 4.5 stars, but it's ruggedness more than makes up for lack of temperature adjustment, and a chamber I wish was bigger.
EDIT: 2.5 months after purchase and flawless performance it just quit working after a real cold day. Would not ignite and started leaking the butane shortly after. Could have been the cold? Maybe! I will write more when it comes back from being repaired.
Edit: Iolite return went OK. My expense. Iolite rec'd Jan 06. Called Jan 26 to inquire if the unit was rec'd. I was informed that I would be receiving a new one. No date of arrival given.
Since I was without my beloved Wispr I bought a new one. Last night it started hissing like it was turbocharged. I am presently letting it burn a full tank to see what happens. It seems to be correcting itself as the butane pressure gets lower. I hope this unit doesn't fail. At least I know I can easily send it back. I MUST LIKE THEM... I KEEP BUYING THEM!
Edit: A new one from Iolite will be here one month from when they received my broken one.
OK time, but not great.
After much cussing and an email to Iolite I found out that when the butane can gets low the Wispr starts acting up. My latest one is working fine. The Wispr has a learning curve and Iolite is not up front about telling you the units have trouble below freezing and fuel pressure must be sufficient.
Edit: I am now on my fourth Wispr! #3 is being evaluated for replacement as were #'s 1&2. #4 is working fine, but so did #1 for three months. Too soon to tell on the quality. I still like them though. My friends Iolite that purchased at the same time is still going strong. Hope #4 does as well as my friends older stykle Iolite. Customer service has been adequate with about a month turnaround. I have not had one repaired as of yet. The company has chosen to replace with a new one each time.
Final Edit: Numbers's 4&5 quit. 4 was returned last week and 5 is failing fast. This does not bode well for IOLITE. Customer service stated that heavy users encounter more frequent failures. They do not tell you to limit your usage in the instructions. They will keep replacing them, but Iolite would be better off giving me my money back. I will use them until Iolite no longer honors the warranty. Or it would be better if they built a product that works.
Just hit the switch, wait a min, and that's it!
Once you turn it on, the device maintains the perfect temp until it is turned off. So I can walk the dog with it warming up in my pocket just letting it idle while keeping the correct temp (It does not get hot to the touch) and then just pull it out for a quick vape while on the go. (Just remember to turn it off again eventually, as there is no auto-off that i know of.)
I let it run for a while to test it to see if the device would eventually burn the cap contents, but I can say it did not at all. It also seems to use all the contents right down to the end without any thing wasted.
I haven't been using the optimizer, but I don't think it needs it. All the contents are heated evenly, and only have to stir it all up maybe once per cap load.
The only cons:
-There is a faint butane smell while it initially warms up, but that odor does not effect the vape taste or quality so I don't really find it to be an issue.
-They are a bit pricey, but I got mine on sale for $188. So not an issue (at least for me) ;)
-When warming up, there is a hissing sound(or "wisper" I guess) but its not as loud as I was expecting, or as loud as some people say.
-You can't adjust the heat level, but this thing always just goes to the perfect temp. Never too hot or too cold. I personally like that I don't have to fiddle with setting the temp and it makes it easier for others to try...So again, I don't find this an issue either.
If you see one cheap, jump on it!
Some people been giving this low reviews, but this thing performs above expectations for me!
I found it works best if you:
-fill the cap with 3/4 the way up.
-Use only the 5x filtered butane (like Vector) and fill with butane can and the Wispr turned upside down. Also give it 5-10 mins after refilling before using.
-Let is initially warm up a bit for 2-3 minutes (I know it say 30 sec, but you get a much better results if you wait just a little.)
-When turning the gas on, let it fill to a 1-2 seconds before slowly pushing down the ignition. I can get it to light on the first try about every 9 out of 10 times.
This product will work nicely until the heat from use causes the butane flow to be so distorted as to cause the device to be unable to ignite. At least, that was my experience.
I wanted a non-battery operated vape that was just REALLY user friendly, and I am really pleased with my purchase. I have the pistachio color and its great! The silicone tube really stops the tip from overheating and burning your lips. The vape is easy to fill and one fill lasts for several uses.
The best part is the design and engineering, the product address every issue that one could possible come across with portable vapes and succeeds in offering its customers the best solution to them with this product.
I cannot compare the sheer pleasure I get from using this product to anything else I have tried. I just bought my boyfriend the Espresso color as a graduation present since him and all our friends who have tried it are in love with this product.
Another great aspect of this product is how incognito it is, I can walk down the street or leave it in my open bag without arising suspicions.
cons: if there are more than two people... it tends to not work as well. if youre trying to show it off to all your friends at once... dont. haha it does not work well with more than two people. the vapor is alot reduced a ton and cannot keep up with the amount of people hitting it. it tends to not work for me if there are more than 2 people.; also the whole idea of a "wispr" is completely bs. it is quite loud actually. but i mean you do have to keep in mind that it is a vaporizer and it is heating up so it doesnt bother me that much, but for some people it might. if you have ever used the old iolites, it sounds the exact same when heating up and then every now and then it will make that same hissing sound to keep the temperature steady.
all-in-all. vapor quality with 1-2 people great. portability unbeatable. i love it. however, i am disappointed in the production of vapor when there are more than 2 people around therefore i give it 4 stars.
