Very in-depth reading, good for those who already have some understanding of international relations. Not the sort of book for beginners, as I was. Also not suitable for skim-reading, as you often have to have read an entire chapter before you necessary understand what it being referenced.

I bought this book for my politics course at university, and it's very serviceable for that purpose. It isn't exactly compelling reading but it gets the information across. For me, it was a little wordy which is why I took a star off, though the repetition of information can be helpful for revision! I appreciated that the authors focused on analysis of events rather than just listing facts, as the analysis is the hard part!
