From the Back Cover

As in previous editions of this popular text on cross–cultural management, students will find here an invaluable guide to key management theories, linked to practical examples from all round the world. The book′s key distinctive feature remains its truly international profile, with current examples from the US, Europe, Asia and new perspectives in this edition from other regions. Discussion of cross–cultural models is updated by including the ′crossvergence′ framework developed during the 1990s, as well as the latest new research on organizational culture Coverage of how and to what extent cultural variation affects the implementation of e–technology at the workplace (esp. in multinational subsidiaries) New material on the management of marketing/sales teams across borders and implications of cultural differences for expatriate managers. The addition of several new cases, from the Middle East, Latin America and Africa as well as new cases in in Asia. The 4th edition retains the special appendix on how to write a successful dissertaion or project which makes this a useful text for both MBA and advanced undergraduate courses.

A great insight with a global perspective on the process of hiring, training, and developing staff, with great strategic decision making focusing on foreign markets. This 4th edition still incorporates the special appendix on how to write successful dissertations or class project, useful for MBA, advanced undergraduate courses or the like minded. Included are discussions of cross-cultural models, new case examples from the US, Europe, Asia and perspectives from other regions but still focusing on focusing on a number of key issues, such as differences in management styles, organizational structures, corporate governance, production systems, corporate strategy, labour relations, and human resource issues in different countries. This book still remains as the comprehensive market leader in introduction to global cross-cultural management available and has been extensively revised.

With all the proliferation of cheap discussions of culture as being the driver or killer of business success that's been going around in the past few years, or the other cheap argument of universalisation of culture through globalisation, Profs. Mead and Andrews provide a refreshingly thorough, detailed and balanced analysis of the relationship between culture and business performance and behaviour. A concise yet detailed and well structured investigation into cultural influences on business practices and what they mean for the manager of international organisations. I specially enjoyed the critical and unassuming view of the relationship between globalisation and culture, which was refreshing and illustrative. All in all, a great book.

An easy to follow, reader friendly text into cross cultural management. Layout clear and concise and information accurate and well laid out. An absolute must for an all round book on international management. It even expains Hofstede in a simplistic fashion. Good value.
