I received the book very fast, but the book was unfortunately slightly damaged when I opened the package. There were no signs of damage on the packaging however, so I first noticed this when I opened it later after receiving it. Besides the slight damage, speed and price has been very good.

Confusing as hell! You need a professor to guide you through. This is not a "teach yourself" type of textbook. Crazy concepts past chapter 2.

If you are taking a class and this is the required textbook. Don't miss a class!!!
HASH(0x9941ccf0) out of 5 stars Comprehensive but Convoluted 10 May 2016
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
This is not a self-study book. Although it has some "friendly" figures and examples, it is not concise and this tends to confuse students. Sometimes it does not explain models from the simple to complex, and it has very long sentences that may confuse the reader. Moreover, the order of ideas explained in each chapter is not always clear, and the reader has to find out by himself what is the relevance and connection between those ideas. It is important to note that many classmates shared my opinion, and some friends who used the international edition (outside the U.S.) also thought that the book was confusing and convoluted.

On the other hand, if you have a teacher this book may be useful. It also has a very comprehensive, interesting and useful content. I would just suggest to have another source (teacher, textbook, online material) to complement Krugman and Melitz' book.

HASH(0x976125dc) out of 5 stars It's entertaining to realize how incompatible Krugman's column is with his textbook instruction 4 Feb. 2016
By Jeff Flogel - Published on Amazon.com

This book does a pretty good job of explaining international economic concepts. What's really interesting is to read this textbook and realize how incompatible Paul Krugman's NYT column is with his own teachings.

HASH(0x97b11084) out of 5 stars Excellent ebook on International Econ 7 Aug. 2015

What is there to say. Krugman and co-authors are leaders in their field. They write clearly, have material that is state-of-the-art in International Economics. Krugman's other etexts/ebooks are excellent as well.
