The advice is UK centric, so some aspects of setting up your business, tax, etc are specific to the UK. However the general principles are more than adequate to point international readers in the right direction.
Dennis Russell lays out both the advantages and disadvantages of becoming an interim manager, and is realistic about what it takes to be successful in this business. One piece of advice I found particularly useful was that most assignments will be one step lower than the highest rank you achieved in the public or private sector.
I found some of the specific advice on setting up very useful, particularly the advice about liability insurance - very important, and something I had not previously considered.
At the end of each chapter there is a key points summary. This book is now within arm's length of me at all times when I am at my desk.
