About the Author

Ian Law is Director of the Centre for Ethnicity and Racism Studies and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Social Policy, University of Leeds.

Deborah Phillips is Deputy Directory of the Centre for Ethnicity and Racism Studies and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geography, University of Leeds.

Laura Turney was a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds working on the Institutional Racism in Higher Education Toolkit Project in 2001–2003. She is presently a Principal Researcher with the Scottish Executive.

Les Back is Professor of Sociology, Goldsmiths College, University of London.

Colin Clark is Lecturer in Sociology and Romani studies in the School of Geography, Politics and Sociology, University of Newcastle upon Tyne.
