4.0 out of 5 stars Warfield on Biblical Authority a Must Read 6 Aug. 2012
By Corey Fleig - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
After reading the book, I'm now reviewing the Roman Catholic arguments against it, to learn how air-tight Warfield's presentation is, or isn't.

Personally, I don't see how anyone can argue against this outstanding classic. Not only is it thorough, but I could barely get through the footnotes on Philo and others. Good grief it was exhausting.

For all practical purposes its a treatment of 2 things: 2 Timothy 3 and all the "it is written" statements of the NT.

It will be interesting to see how Rome denies the obvious.

There's a lot of references to greek, of which I only know a little, but the overall treatment was easy enough. I wish it could be re-written in Modern english - that would be absolutely incredible!

On a lesser note, a few pages were were faded, so I can't tell if this book is a print from photo-copies. All in all, it was no big deal.

This book is an absolute gem, and if you agree with its biblical position, you'll be richly encouraged for having read it. If you disagree, you will spend years and years and years trying to take it apart!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth Studying 25 Dec. 2012
By Fred Hobson - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
Warfield presents a convincing case for the inspiriation and authority of the Bible. Excellent insights are presented for those who may doubt God's authority and His inspiration of the scriptures.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Classic! 12 Feb. 2013
By Jimmy R. Reagan - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
Perhaps the most well-known volume of all on the subject. It has graced the shelves of most conservative pastors since written. It would be a boon to the cause of Christ if more pastors read it today. Somewhat scholarly in tone, but worth mastering.

5.0 out of 5 stars Seminary Books 30 Aug. 2013
By Richard Rothman - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
This book comes highly recommended by current theologians and by a seminar leader that I attended. Tough reading though, it is Seminary material.
