So, what's good about this book. Firstly it pictures all Cuba's main tourist sites with not only interesting and accurate photographs but with quite well written supportive text. Rarely for a Taschen publication it manages to engage the reader. Secondly, this is a LARGE, heavy attractively produced book which at approx £16 offers excellent value for money. With most 'coffee' table books of this size being priced at £25 + these days this is another rareity. Finally, if you have'nt visited Cuba you will want to do so after reading this book. It will perfectly compliment your holiday. If you have'nt visited or can't then this book is the next best thing.
a book that gets beneath the skin of tourist perceptions and presents an excellent and well researched study on the diversity of architectural styles and influences that make up Cuba today. Photographs reveal the eclectic make-up of colonial and revolutionary architecture, and the people that inhabit, adapt, or 'co-exist' with these magnificent examples in Cuba.
