I'm just finishing wk 3, the changes in my body are coming fast, even after wk 1. I'm actually amazed! I'm 52 and have never felt so mentally and physically strong. It's hard work but sets me up for a good day!
If I hear Insantity one more time I'll go insane, better off going for a run tbh. Programs are intense but it does get boring and easy to loose interest. I also hate the fact they keep refering to this is insanity... Might work for some not for me.
Fantastic product, you seriously will get very fit as long as you stick with it. The DVD's are good quality for sound and picture. The people are really working out with you and they struggle in places too which makes you want to continue and keeps you positive (plus they do look amazing). Makesure you do have a recovery drink, your muscles will need it and this will enable you to work out each day without the pain! Sean T keeps you motivated and his warm up/downs and stretches are imperative and amazing. Would highly recommend!
Oh my god I would recommend people who want to lose weight/burn fat to purchase this product 10minutes in to this workout and I'm sweating like a pig but 10minutes of steady cardio such as jogging gets you no where high intensity interval training like insanity will make you lose weight for sure but makesure your diets clean and drink water peace!!!
Bought insantity after reading the reviews. Am now halfway through my second course and loving it. First tip is to check your discs before they start as some on mine were faulty/scratched and I had to send them back. There is a really stupid policy where you have to buy it again then send it back and get a refund if you have started already and need them back asap.
Onto Insanity. ITS HARD!!!! i began to wonderd what i had been doing in the gym these passed few years. ITS IMPORTANT TO REALLY STRETCH for less pain. I was not able to really follow the diet as I did not like most of the food and don't like protein shakes. A good tip is to have a fruit smoothie straight afterwards with some melon or pineapple as that makes you feel better. I did however stick loosely to the rules.
Get a friend to do it with you as it will help you to stay motivated and they will understand when you complain about pain.
If you have any sort if injury makesure that you get a support. YOU WILL NEED THEM. I have bad knees so this was dificult to get through because of all the jumping. Much better now that I can land softly. GOOD TRAINERS are really important!!!!
Managed to loose 1 1/2 stones already and still going strong. Especially happy about the 3 inches that have come off my waist. IT TAKES COMMITMENT but if your ready to start makesure you finish you won't regret it. remember NO PAIN NO GAIN.
All in all the routines are fun, well explained and thankfully quite short (Although it does not feel that way). If you have never done exercise before this is not the one for you, start off with something easier and then move up. If not GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY!!
Well, I think I might have been . After looking at this for a couple of months I decided to take the plunge. I had already done P90x and was amazed at my results and wanted to continue. Ok, so the adverts looked enticing and yes I was used to hard work and did not mind a little sweat. Did I say little?? How about pools of sweat, rapid heart-beat, soaked t-shirts and aching muscles. However......it works. After the shock of the fit test and the first week, I settled down to working my way through the program and the fact that there is no weights involved was interesting for me, normally training with weights or bands. Sometimes i was totally shattered and did not think I could do the next day but following the stretching and cool-down routines (very very important) I realised that Shaun T (bless him) knows exactly what he is talking about. He pumps you up not to fail. "C'mon y'all dig deeper" he yells not only at his class but at you also, then he will get close to a member of the class and bring the camerea with him and describe what is right and what is wrong..to you. Yes he actually talks to you makingsure you are doing the exercise correctly. He even tells you to take a break so as not to lose form with whatever workout you are doing. So what has it done for me? I have lost almost 9kgs and counting, seriously toned up, I have a 4-pack + now and the definition is amazing and with no weights. I have followed the diet almost but its mainly meat and veg. As a supplement I bought LA whey and thats all. I have to say that I am enjoying this so much that I am going to repeat the program again and "dig deeper" as the catchword says. If you buy this program, just beware that it is extreme cardio so if its not for you, don't buy it.
I have told a couple of my friends about this and they have bought this so hopefully joint workouts may come about. I would be great to work out with someone but so far my results are fantastic. Was I crazy?....well I don't think so.
I must admit that i was dubious about this at first as i am with most of the programmes advertised as 'get fit quick' type workouts, but i have to say that INSANITY does work and you will notice a difference! I have completed the first month and am currently on recovery week. In the first month i have lost over 10lbs, an inch off my waist, my biceps and triceps are bigger, my body shape has changed quite dramatically and i feel much fitter than when i began the programme. I cant wait to start the second month!
I have only vaguely been following the nutrition guide due to commitments i have, some of the foods are not possible for me to make on a daily basis, but i know for sure if i had been following it i would have shed even more weight (but don't get me wrong i have been eating as healthy as possible). The whole '60 day' thing is selling point and i don't expect to have a body like shaun after i complete the second month but i know if i keep it up i will eventually. If it takes me 90 days,120 days or even longer i don't really care because firstly i am in no rush for it and secondly however insane the programme gets i am enjoying every minute of it! Essentially this is not a 'get fit quick' programme its a committed lifestyle changing programme.
Like everything in life their is an upside and a downside. The only downside i have found to this programme is the initial price! It did nearly make me walk the other way at first but then i realised something. I go to the gym outside of this programme. Before i purchased insanity i was going to buy myself some new weights for home use as the ones i have got are a limited range. I probably would have easily spent £100 on new weights and had to store them etc which is hard with the limited room i have at home. INSANITY uses your own body as resistance and so i would have no need for the weights and dvd's are easier to store than bulky weights! If i want to do weights i have a full range available at my local gym.
INSANITY is not for everyone but if like me you want to get fit, want a challenge (and my god it will challenge you!) and look good afterwards then this is the fitness programme to get you there!
This programme is exactly what is says it is.. Insane! I knew I wanted to do this as soon as I saw the advert on the TV. Be warned, you need to be dedicated to get through this. I am currently on week two and I'm feeling it, but its a great workout and programme. The dietry booklet is ok, not good if you have any dietry requirements, i.e. Vegetarian. You need to makesure you do eat though, even if you are tempted to diet, makesure you re-fuel your body with the right foods or you won't get through the workouts! The beauty of this program is that you can take it with you, I travel a lot for work and so I can do this workout in my hotel room, you don't need any equipment whatsoever, just determination! I 100% recommend this workout programme!
When I saw the advert for Insanity I knew it was the right thing for me and I was proved right, I have had 10 years of obesity, been a regular at the gym doing the same routines but eating really badly and hence never getting anywhere near a healthy weight.
I have an arthritic hip and was getting dizzy spells at 17 1/2st and feeling pretty rubbish, so I got this course, I am in my 4th week and I have lost a stone so far, trimmed inches off myself and do not get as much hip pain and the dizzy spells have gone, it is amazing.
Shaun T is an amazing down to earth coach and the workouts are intense as well as makingsure you stick to the foods in the nutrition plan but after a couple of weeks I no longer see healthy food as dull, I hardly eat any of the bad stuff now plus I seem to be constantly eating as well through out.
I have so much respect for this course now and I will push on through to finish it too.
It is so well thought out I cant praise it enough.
First thing to say is, the name is so right. These workouts are INSANE. Seriously tough but for me the toughness is part of what makes them enjoyable.
I have struggled to maintain a fitness regime for a long time, partially because of my own laziness and partially because of losing heart when results come too slowly. With Insanity, the second part of the equation is out of the window. Concentrate on keeping form, doing as much as you can, and you will get great results, fast. Take a before picture - you will put on muscle as well as burn fat so your weight on the scales might not move as much as you'd think but you will see your body changing for the better in no time.
Before I bought this I noticed several reviews saying the upper body work wasn't enough, but I think it's fine. My chest and shoulders became more toned almost immediately, and I have never had such big or toned biceps or triceps. My legs are leaner and more muscular than they have ever been.
Yes it's hard, yes it's insane but that's one of the things that keeps you going. Each session is so hard you get a buzz at the end of each session just for getting through it. Make it to the end of each week and you feel so great, and very quickly you start seeing big results. I currently have 1 and a half weeks to go to completion. I have lost 13lbs and 3 inches off the waist, as well as the muscle changes I've mentioned above, and it's fair to say my diet wouldn't meet Shaun T's approval so if you get that under control I'm sure you could see even better results. On top of all that my cardio fitness has rocketed.
A couple of warnings: 1) You need space, there's a fair bit of jumping so you don't want too low ceilings, and if you live in an apartment block you better be ready to annoy the hell out of your neighbours or have somewhere else to do it. 2) Makesure you have supportive trainers to avoid injury. 3) Month 1 is tough, but by the third week you'll be feeling much better. Month 2 is an enormous step up. The workouts are a fair bit longer in Month 2 so you'll need more time. 4) Stretching is a bit of a let down - you will need to do extra stretching at the end and allow for this in your timing - but this is no biggy and not enough for me to deduct a star. 5) I know someone who did this without using a recovery drink, but for me having the recovery drink has been a life saver. I'd recommend having one (I use maximuscle recovermax not the beachbody one but I wouldn't know what is best).
I am no gym head, this is really the only fitness regime I've followed but that's mostly because it's the only one that has motivated me enough to stick to it. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
