I'm just finishing wk 3, the changes in my body are coming fast, even after wk 1. I'm actually amazed! I'm 52 and have never felt so mentally and physically strong. It's hard work but sets me up for a good day!
If I hear Insantity one more time I'll go insane, better off going for a run tbh. Programs are intense but it does get boring and easy to loose interest. I also hate the fact they keep refering to this is insanity... Might work for some not for me.
It is insanity but am really enjoying it. I bought this package as I wanted to get back to fitness after having an operation last year where I wasn't allowed to do anything. In the first week my aerobic fitness was so bad I had to press pause a few times to catch my breath but after that I could do each of month 1 dvds non-stop and was really chuffed to see real progress in the fit test after just 2 weeks. I have now completed month 1 and am about to start the recovery week, bring on month 2, I hear that really is insanity.
I justified the cost of this as equivalent to 3 months' gym membership and it has definitely pushed me to exercise harder and better than the gym ever has. Assuming I use the programme again, I will have ultimately saved money. Month 1 is tough and Month 2 even tougher but if you stick in there and follow the instructions it gives superb results safely. There are good warm ups, stretches and cool downs and a great nutrition plan if you want to also follow that. I have lost over 1 stone over the full programme (Ideally I would have liked to lose 2) but I think I look as though I have lost more as I am much more toned and muscled and fit looking. It's important to note this is not a diet programme and in fact you may eat more than usual (just healthier) to keep your energy up. I am stronger and fitter than I have been in a long time. The instructor is very American and there's a fair bit of whooping etc through the workouts but if you can look past that then actually he gives good clear instructions. You work out to compete against your own last results rather than to keep up with bikini-clad hardbodies (although in the end you'll be able to keep up and better) and it is encouraging that the people on the video get just as sweaty and puffed out as me. It is really really hard but really satisfying as you see yourself improving each day. Overall I thoroughly recommend this as an effective workout programme if you're the sort of person who thrives with a challenge and being shouted at by the instructor to "dig deeper!"
I really love this workout. Purchased one month ago and cannot spend a day without it. I did a lot of research before buying it and also, as I have been overweight, did another workout (10 Minute Trainer: Tony Horton's Workout for the Busiest People Fitness DVD Program) before I started Insanity. Doing this helped me a lot to keep up with the pace in the dvds and avoid joint/muscle problems, which could arise, if your body is not used to exercise at all. It is a workout that will build your stamina and help you to lose fat/inches around everything. There are many jump moves, plank work and really crazy moves to train your abs. I purchased some 66FIT Interlocking Mats/Floor Guard X 4 Peices that help to ease straining on joints. Month 1 contains workouts that are usually about 45 minutes long with one rest day per week. Month 2 is getting really hard, workouts are around 60 minutes with one rest day per week. Month 2 is also the time most people notice weight loss, if they diet beside exercising. I am now starting the second part and my weight loss so far is 5 lbs, which is slightly disappointing, as I thought it would be more. But, I will continue to press play, read the Eating Guide that comes with the package and adjust my diet (am I not eating enough calories?) and see then at the end of this month how many inches I will lose. I am also clear that I will have to repeat this workout many more times in order to reach my ideal weight. I can only recommend Insanity, the best workout I have been doing.
Bought this product as friends of mine are using it and showing great results. I have always exercised and am consider myself to be fairly fit, this workout has made me work hard but feel great afterwards. Before purchasing this programme I watched snippets of it on you tube and other reviews, I would recommend others to do the same, just so you know what your getting yourself into!! I like the panel at the bottom of the screen which shows how long you have left on a particular workout before moving onto the next. It is nice to see that even the instructor and his team don't do all the exercises and they do (as he recommends in the DVD) take a break and go at their own paces. I am now into my second week now and still enjoying. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to get fitter, however would like to warn people that it is tough, but have seen you can get excellent results.
This has to be the hardest workout DVD around but I love it! I am now into my 2nd month of the insanity workout and I have to say its the best thing I have done. It is very hard and not for the faint hearted but once you get into it you started to see really changes in the way your body starts to look but more importantly the strength you start to develop. Before starting the insanity workout I couldn't even do half a push up but now I am able to do push up, push up jacks to mention a few. What I would say is if you are wanting to getfit and have a new fitness programme that will stay with you and something you can follow long term then this is the programme for you! all you have to do is Dig Deeper!!!
Ive only been doing it for 2 weeks but I love it.Ive been a regular gym goer for over 10 years and I just wanted to switch things up doing something different. Ive taken measurements, im not going to measure again until the end of month 1 but I did lose 2lbs in my first week and ive been eating 1900 calories a day (tracking on myfitnesspal), this is quite alot for a 5ft1in female.Ive also bought a heart rate monitor to watch my heart rate and see how many calories ive been burning. I would not recommend this program to a beginner its way to intense for someone starting out, it would be better to get to a good level of fitness first. I struggle, it is hard but that what I love about it, cant wait to see my progress at the end of the 60 days. : )
