About the Author
KAUSHALESH LAL is senior researcher at UNU-MERIT. Prior to joining UNU, he was associate professor at Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi University, India. His research interests are ICTs and associated aspects, economics of technological change, open source initiatives, innovation and growth, micro-level technological change, and globalisation. Dr. Lal is on the panel of referees for several renowned international journals. PIERRE MOHNEN is professor in the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Maastricht University, The Netherlands Professorial Fellow at UNU-MERIT, Associate Fellow at CIRANO (Montreal) and METEOR Fellow. His main research interests are applied econometrics, R&D, innovation, and technological change, but he has also published in the areas of international trade, regulation and development.
