She's done it again. Another heartwarming, pulse racing Montgomery story.
Throughout the other books in the series we have seen quite a bit of Storm but never really gotten to know him. In this book we finally get to and learn that one half of 'the twins' has been less than open with his family, or even his twin, about the horrors of his past and the forever present consequences of it. And when Storm's past has life altering consequences for his best friend's widow, Everly, he knows its time his secrets came to an end.
I would have happily have given this book 5 stars but I felt the epilogue came all to soon for my liking and lacked answers I badly wanted, ie. Why did she do any of the stuff she did? Other than that I loved it and cannot wait for the next one.
Storm is a conflicted character as he has been keeping a secret for the past 20 years that has then effected everything he has done since then. It is a mystery how Storm has kept the secret for so long in a large nosey family especially when it's effected him both physically and mentally but somehow he managed until it all came to a head. Wes is fed up of not knowing what is happening with the man that he's closest to in the world and Storms physical limitations are getting harder to hide from everyone.
I understand why Storm wanted to keep what happened from his family but I did find it very frustrating that he felt that way as you could see right from the beginning that his family would be his rock and wouldn't dream of judging him or shunning him.
Everly lost her husband the night she gave birth to her twin boys and are now 3 years old and suffering from big health problems and she feels like her life is all of a sudden falling apart. Her children are ill, her livelihood has gone up in smoke, she discovers a secret about her husbands past and someone is trying to kill her and to add to the already mounting problems she is attracted to Storm who is her dead husbands best friend and she can no longer resist the desires.
Things are hot and cold between them both for a while but their is always the simmering sexual tension between them but they don't act on it till later in the book.Read more ›
