It has everything you'd ecpect from a travel game as in, the pieces sit tighly in the holes, and don't fall out and roll around, the board is compact and really sturdy, and i reckon it's all waterproof as well, as everything is made of plastic.
This is just a really cool game too though! you score points by putting you pices on the board to make rows of matching colours, and once you've scored enough points, you have to shout INGENIOUS! so we had great fun with it on the plane when we went on holiday, although we tried to keep the shouting to a minimal. I would recommend this game to anyone, and the proper version is definately worth a look as well.
My gripe is that both the image on Amazon & the image on the box lid, are of a much sturdier looking game, made of thicker plastic, with bigger pegs, stronger peg holes, painted numbers against the peg holes & embossed shapes on the playing tiles. None of these features are present on the game inside the box, so I do feel slightly cheated.
Update 18/03/10 - Box cover / Amazon image now changed so that they no longer show an image of the actual game. However, I suspect that you will still find the more flimsy variant of the game within the box.
Its easy and quick to learn and each time you play you learn something new.
Being a travel version the pieces and pegs are quite small, and its also restricted to two players, there is a full version Ingenious Strategy Game which you can play with more players and probably is bigger but I haven't tried this.
The kids love it and its all self contained. Previous reviews mention it is flimsy but I don't find this to be the case, however as mentioned the pieces are small as its a travel version.
Personally I prefer the Qwirkle cubes but this is a close second and both are good value, would recommend.
The only thing that annoys me is the coloured pegs you use to keep score don't fit in the board very well so I think it wont be long before was lose some (and they don't give you any spares). Its a little pricey for such a small simple game but worth every penny!
For me the board is too big for a travel game. Would be much better if it folded in half & fitted into the bag supplied for the pieces. Would only work as a travel game if you were driving to a destination & so could pack larger sized games. Definitely not one for playing at the airport or in the car as the pegs are very small & easily lost, & the pieces are easy to knock off the board.
Addictive to play though & we'll be buying the full-sized version (especially as more than 2 can play at a time on it). Just wish we bought it first rather than this one which is too large to be travel sized but a bit fiddly for home.

This is a great game. We have lost hours playing it. It's pretty well made as in the pieces slot in nicely so they don't fall out, although the pegs to score with aren't as tight... Read morePublished on 15 Mar. 2011 by Princess16
Kids love this game, spent ages at it the first night, then got the hang of it, something different and you don't seem to find it in the shops. My childrens friends loved it too.Published on 12 Jan. 2011 by Maura Baby
