The infographic illustrations are a big part of the book. One of my favorite infographic illustrations is on page 16, showing the 5 different tastes a tongue can recognize. Another insightful infographic is the conception graphic that shows how long the conception takes for different animals; it also provides the ruler showing the speed of sperm. Brilliant. Another good example is the human skeleton giving you a rough geometric reference to the most important bones in your body. It's easier to remember them than when you look up an actual anatomy illustration. Another great thing about this book is the tabbing of chapters using color and icons.
Reading this book made me wonder why we don't use as much color and illustrations in adult books as if we didn't need to remember what we read!
By contrast, the companion book Animal Kingdom works well with this style.
