Sadly, this collection of patterns is a bit of a mixed bag, and requires some work to be a useful addition to a knitter's bookshelf.

The problems include numerous typos; yarn types/weights not specified (just colours - really?); needle sizes given in one format with no explanation (I'm assuming US, but who knows?) and no explanation of abbreviations and terminology.

This could all have been rectified with some decent editing and project oversight.

As scarves are often chosen as a beginner project, this could be really off-putting. And an experienced knitter like myself could probably solve the issues I've outlined, but to be honest, the projects aren't that appealing or unique enough to make me want to do so.

Disappointing

Technically very easy effective pattern however needs full attention as one stitch wrong ruins pattern and is hard to rectify

A little disappointed as this book is mainly for circular needles which I dislike using. However their are two patterns using standard needles which I shall be using. Pleased to see that although this is american English equivalents are given.

Lovely patterns to suit all ages and abilities of knitters. Only drawback is that the equivalent English yarn is not given.

I found the designs not to be very interesting nor chic. I guess that is ok considering the price but Ravelry has a much better choice and you only buy the patterns you really want.

You either make them or you don't. What else can you say about the literary quality of knitting patterns?
