I personally loved this album and have no idea what the other reviewers are talking about! It might not be the best hammerfall album but its definitely not the worst!

What an album! I know some aren't appreciative of the bands slight change of direction but I love it. It works and having the album Gates of Dalhalla you can see how the songs mix seamlessly into the bands repertoire. I. A long term fan of Hammerfall and this album makes me even more of a fan. Brilliant.

I've followed Hammerfall since their debut, and up until and including 'Chapter V' have enjoyed everything they've done, and have still bought their subsequent albums, but this one has ended my love of the band.

With the exception of the track 'The Outlaw' there is not even the slightest hint of classic era Hammerfall going on here.

As for abandoning their mascot Hector, well that's just a huge mistake, it's like Maiden not bothering with Eddie anymore.

Maybe this is just a blip, and they will listen to the negative feedback from the fans that this album has received in huge amounts, and go back to doing what they do best, catchy power metal with great guitar work, and big choruses.

I hope so, for the futre of the band.

Not bad for a metal album, but just not Hammerfall. Sorry chaps this just does not cut it for me. I played it 3 times all the way through and just don't understand. It just sounds like a good to average metal album with a few glimpses of Megadeth; almost a mixture of Jag Panzer and Stratovarius but neither at their prime.

In my opinion it is probably 3-4 stars as a metal album, but apart from Outlaw it just does not do Hammerfall justice. Saw them twice on tour in the UK in 2010 and they were much, much better than this.

I hope that this is a blip and they can get back to their power metal roots with the sing along choruses.

Come on chaps, this is okay but we know that you can do much better. I want somthing like "Titan", "Howlin' with the Pack", "Crimson Thunder", "Natural High" that gets me singing along on a second listen.

Bring on the next album and become Hammerfall again. No point in being just another metal band but with a bit more talent is there!

I cannot agree with the rest of the reviews on here as I think that this album rocks!
Its not a typical Hammerfall album but we knew that it wasn't going to be when the band was interviewed prior to its release and thats why I knew I had too get it. A band has to change direction once in a while otherwise the music gets stale. Whether your a Hammerfall or metal fan buy this album, you wont be dissappointed.
Its already one of the most played cd's in my car.
