Inevitable by J L Beck - Reviewed by Klaire Sutherland for 2 Ordinary Girls and Their Books
*Gifted for an honest review* 3/12 to 4 Stars.
I sometimes wonder if I'm reading the same book as everyone else and I can just hear the authors that moan about my lesser stars to the many 5 stars that their books have. No, not in any way a dig.....just a question I seem to be asking myself a lot lately. So when I see a book I didn't find a 5 star read when so obviously everyone else did I try to understand it and try very much to explain in my reviews. A 5 star read, for me, needs to be PERFECT. With no if's and buts and nothing questionable about it. Sadly I don't think this managed it, which is such a shame as I was eager for the conclusion as the first is a very good read. I didn't "feel" it with this book.
Mafia books rank among my favourites so naturally I gravitate toward them and this had very little of the mafia connection running through the story like the first book did. You are launched straight into where book 1 left off and it's quite action packed to begin with. You have a broken Zerro both physically and emotionally, it's quite uncomfortable to read the demise of a mafia King. To watch him go all soft and sappy like that? It wasn't good, for me he lost alot of his credibility, I struggled to find a sympathy with him that should have been there. It all slides quite fast from there. Not very much goes on in between the fast paced beginning and end. There are twists and turns in here that maybe should be a little more straightforward in explanation. But it was Bree whining about how broken she was and about all the things that happened to her. I did not like that one bit.

Well I'm completely not sure at all what went on with this second book, it was like reading a whole new book entirely.

Basically this book continues straight on from where book 1 ended, with Bree kidnapped. The whole plot line for this second book is getting Bree back and seeking revenge- all sounds good in theory but where the storyline is good, the characters have taken a complete 180!

Zerro in this book losing all credibility for me- it's like bark with no bite. He keeps saying what a strong, powerful, bad person he is but quite frankly it's like listening to a person that's full of themselves with nothing to back it up with- a complete fraud!

As for Bree, all she goes on about is being this badass, strong person that could just 'stick a knife in you' whilst moaning continuously in a complete self-centred way.

I have no idea what happened with these characters, but unfortunately I went from really liking them (giving book 1 a great review) to completely disliking them and ultimately not being able for the book to finish. This genuinely makes me so sad as I really felt it had so much potential.
I currently have book 3, Devons story, and I'm really hoping its back to being a really addictive gripping read.

I'm not gonna lie after the ending of the first book I was anxious and a little scared to read it but Joise did not disappoint, the action starts on the first page and it doesn't let up at all. For Bree the punches to the life she knew just keep coming but I like that this time we see her get stronger and Zerro is still the bad boy but he loves Bree and will do anything to protect her. Your on a rollercoaster ride that puts your emotions through the wringer but damn I really didn't want this book to end.

This book doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Completely incoherent. Whereas the first had some sort of structure and logic, the second had me completely lost with the thinking and actions of the characters

Inevitable starts off, where Indebted left off
Alzerro - A monster, an evil killer, whose whole life has revolved around revenge and avenging his mothers death, not knowing who he can trust.

Bree - A naive girl, who has lived a life based on deceit and lies, but has a strength and defiance that can bring the strongest to their knees.

J.L.Beck takes you once again on another roller coaster ride, but with more twists and turns. Secrets are revealed, Truths are uncovered,Two lives and souls entwined before either was aware of each others existence.
To Zerro only one thing was Inevitable in life Death, but with Bree now in his life its love that is Inevitable.

I don't even know where to start. This book was amazing!

I had doubts about Indebted when I started it; this isn't my typical read. But, I gave it a shot and thoroughly enjoyed it. I cried at the end...was that the end of Zerro and Bree's story? No, thank God, it continues in Inevitable.

As much as I enjoyed Indebted, Inevitable surpasses it by leaps and bounds. I absolutely love this book!! The characters, the story line, the passion...oh YES it is hot! I hate it when books make me cry...both Indebted and Inevitable made me cry...and in the end I loved it!!

Thank you J.L. Beck for this amazing series! I cannot wait for Devon's story!
