Very pleased with this item. I wanted something different from the usual journals you get in shops like WH Smith or other shops and I was NOT disappointed.

I wanted something simple, made of leather (as i like the smell) and something with paper which would be fountain pen friendly. Again I was NOT disappointed

The leather tie that goes around the journal is a nice touch too. I like how i can also use it as a bookmark too.

It is real leather too, NOT fake. This just adds a whole atmosphere to the journal. While I age, so will the Journal. As I wrinkle, the leather will too. I like the naturalness of it.

Ok enough about the leather. The paper inside is very nice too. Unlike that paper you usually get inside Pukka Pads or the like, it soaks up the ink from my fountain pen nicely. It doesn't 'bleed' or 'feather', perhaps its got something to do with the pen I use (LAMY Joy 1.1 calligraphy nib) but the writing in it is very smooth.

Its very well made and I just love carrying it around with me. Yes, I carry my iPhone around with me too so I could always start a digital journal however with a digital Journal, one can just delete mistakes and start new. With this, one will think more carefully before they put pen to paper. Digital files can be lost (and i suppose this could get damaged) however I feel that my Leather journal will be around for many decades.

So, to wrap up. Very nice journal, lovely paper inside and simplistic look & feel about it.

Thanks for the ability to purchase one :)

The journal is (as it states 15cm by 20cm) good size, measurement fine (A5 notebook). Cotton pages are thick enough to write on with a fountain pen without it showing on the other side. The leather appears a good quality. Just under 200 fabulous pages to fill with whatever you want :) Love it!!!

Received mine in the post today. Pleased with the quality of the paper within. Thick enough as to not bleed through with ink, yet, not so much that it makes it feel like cardboard. The leather itself is 100% real. Very nice smell (mmmmmmmmmmm...) and cut well. The only qualm I have with it, is that its cut a little too simply for my liking. Would have preferred it to look a little more rustic; but then again, it will eventually tarnish with time. I like the partitioning of the pages. It adds a very nice touch to an overall well presented journal.

For me, the 5th star for the review would have been added, for a little better quality with the wrapping, (the leather binding wrap is a little scuffed), my front cover is a little tarnished too (which doesn't bother me, since I look forward to it looking a little more "old"). The biggest drawback is the imprint of the company logo on the back, which I found to be a little off-putting, since I wanted it to look as handmade as possible.

I wanted something different to an average notebook, so I bought this journal on a whim. It's asthetically pleasing and very simple, very beautiful. The cotten pages are great quality, and chunk together in segments, which makes the whole book seem less chunky and more attractive. However, they don't exactly agree with my fountain bed - allowing too much bleed. Despite this, I can't quite give up writting in it.

The leather is smooth and is probably what makes the journel so beautiful. My one complaint, however, is the strip of leather used to bind the book shut doesn't actually do its job all that well, since it slips out of where I tuck it and lets the journel fall open if I hold it by its spine.

In any case, I must admit, this book is fantastic. I would most certainly recommend this - providing you use the right pen.

No similar whatsoever to the picture. Very misleading. The color in the picture is nice as well as the leather looks. But when I received it, the leather had scratch marks, I the pages where bright white, not the old age type as it would be perceived. So overall wouldn't buy it again.

This is a handsome item, which could be suitable as a 'Pepys' type journal, diary or receptacle for personal or holiday memories, a few photographs, written observations, drawings, and so on. The paper is good quality and the leather cover feels like quality. It is bigger the a paperback but not too big it can't be carried around. I liked it so much I bought two, one for me and one to be saved up as a Christmas present (don't laugh, the festive season is not too far away) for an artistic friend. I am very satisfied with both the item and the quick service.

This journal is excellent. There is nothing I don't like about it. Only problem is I am exercising strict quality control on what I put in it. Meaning it gets used less than deserved.
However, I am bemused at a few reviewers who complain that the leather is a touch scuffed, that it doesn't look "rustic" enough and that the pages don't look aged.
1. It won't look antique if the leather isn't scuffed.
2. Age of paper is in the smell and the touch, not the colour.
3. These are made in poor Indian villages. How much more rustic do you want for your money?

I brought this for my best friend who was going travelling around the world, I brought it for friends and family to write messages in and also stick photos 6x4 in it as well so she could see everyone who loves her whilst travelling, and also write her travels in it.

Excellent quality would recommend and buy again. it is real leather, pages are thick and would not tear easily. it also came with a draw string bag to protect it.

I contacted the sellers before buying and they were very helpful.
