I enjoyed watching Owen win back his girl. It was very clever of him the way he reeled her in without her actually knowing she was, technically, having her heart manipulated by Owen!
After reading both books, I still like Owen and I still have mixed feelings towards Ally. This book made me think a little bit higher of her.
I felt the author has produced a couple of well-presented books. However, I felt that this whole story could have been told in one book. I don’t think there was enough content to warrant 2 books.
It was enjoyable, and I would certainly read more from this author.

Shae Scott wrote an unforgettable story about love, hope and forgiveness. Ally and Owen once found forever in each other, but Owen gave it all up for something he thought he wanted. In the end, he lost it all. I love reading books in both characters’ POV and this book takes you inside the minds of both Ally and Owen and the roller coaster of emotions that they feel for each other throughout the book.
Ally is no longer the carefree and easy-going person she used to be. Now she is guarded, more reserved and questions everything. She is ready to move on with her life, but when she takes that step to get back to find her old self, she runs in to the guy who caused all her heartache. Ally tries to convince herself that she can get over the guy she gave her heart to, but when she starts spending time with Owen, she finds it harder to keep her heart under lock and key.
“I was more comfortable with safe. However, safe didn’t make me feel alive. Not like he did.â€
Fate is giving Owen another chance at happiness and this time he is taking it. The new and improved Owen is sweet, charming, and head over heels in love with Ally. That one thing has never chanced. The only problem is that he has to prove to Ally that he is not the same workaholic, selfish guy he used to be. He learned his lesson the hard way, and he is ready to turn his life around. Now he has to prove to her that he has become the man that she needed and won't run when times get tough.
“This is about you and me. Not the rest of the world. I have a lot to prove. Let me prove it.â€
I loved reading about Ally and Owen. I never wanted to put it down, so that I could find out what would happen next. I love how when they were together, it was like finding the missing piece of the puzzle they were looking for. Owen made mistakes, but no matter how hard Ally pushed, he never let her go. I would definitely recommend reading it. It is the right combination of sweet love, spicy passion, and emotional connection to the characters.

I didn't think I could love Owen more than I did after reading book 1, but I was so wrong! Yes, he made mistakes, but who doesn't? Owen and Ally's relationship continues to be one I will remember. This story is definitely one that will stay with you! I loved that Owen was willing to give his all to get Ally back. When Owen runs into Ally after not seeing her for 6 months, he didn't think twice about her dating someone else. Let me just say, I felt so bad for William. William was so into Ally and he knew that she had a history that kept her walls up. He wanted to be the one to break down those walls and show her there was still hope for love. But when he saw the way Ally looked at Owen, when they crossed paths unexpectedly, he knew he never stood a chance.....
"I knew it last night. I knew the moment that I saw you look at him. I've never seen you that way. I shouldn't have pushed you tonight. I wanted you to look at me that way. With fire in you eyes. I wanted to be the one to heal you and make you forget him. But it's not going to happen. No matter how long I wait. You still belong to him."
"I wish it were me. I wish I was the one who made you feel so deeply."
Tears were just falling down my face at his words. UGH.... he seriously was such a good man and I can tell that he really wanted more with Ally. I'm hoping we get a book or something about him in the future! I would love to read a story about him getting his happily ever after! Unfortunately for him, he found someone who's heart already belonged to someone else.
Ally knows deep down that she still loves Owen and that she never stopped. Even though she tries to stay away from Owen, knowing that it's not safe for her heart, she can't help but be drawn to him. Ally is constantly at a battle with her emotions regarding Owen. She doesn't know what she should do when it comes to their relationship. I love that even though Owen and Ally's relationship stopped, Ally still was close to his Grams and their relationship continued. I loved the talks they would have, and the love that Grams continued to show Ally.....
"I'm sorry that you had to go through that pain. Getting over love like that is hard, if not impossible. It marks you. An indelible mark that cannot be erases. It shapes who you are from that moment forward."
Grams not only was there for Ally, but she was also there for her grandson, Owen. She gave him the best kind of advice when he asked for it.....
"How do I do that? How do it get her back?"
"One day at a time. You make new memories. You show her that you've changed. You show her your heart until she can find a way to see it. You have to knock down the walls. But you can't do it al at once. You push too fast and she's going to scramble to put them right back up. She'll panic because she thinks she needs them. But you take the time and you take it down one brick at a time and soon she'll be standing there free without ever having realized that she let it go. One brick at a time, honey. You can't go back at what you had. That part of your story is over. You have to start new. Let her get to know you again, as you are now. Show her what you've learned. Let her find a way to believe it."
I loved Grams!! She had words of wisdom for everyone!
I really enjoyed this story. I loved the relationship between all the characters. The talks that Ally had with her best friend, Cassie, were great. They had many heart to heart's but also ones that made me laugh out loud. I'm wondering if we will be reading a story about her and Cooper??? I think that would be fun!! I can't wait to see what happens next! Looking forward to reading more from Shae Scott!!!
I thought that Indelible was an excellent follow-up and conclusion to the first book Unfinished. While reading, my heart ached for Ally as well as for Owen, even thought he had been a big jerk to Ally. I found myself vested in the story and hoping that true love prevailed and that Owen and Ally ended up together. The story developed with little thinks Owen did to show Ally the better person that has had become. They both screwed-up along the way as they were both human but overall, I thought the story very realistic and it was easy to relate to the characters. Ms. Scott’s writing was exquisite and she wove a beautiful love story between two broken people that I think others will enjoy just as much as I did.
So, he did what he thought was best: he gave her the freedom she begged for, and broke off their relationship. He immediately regretted it.
Six months have passed, and during that time Owen has relocated to Nashville, and bought the perfect house to share with Ally. He's taken a new job that is satisfying without being consuming. And now, he's looking to prove to Ally just how right he can be for her.
Problem? She's dating someone else.
Ally wants to get over Owen, really, but everything in Nashville reminds her of her heartbreak. She starts dating, but can't commit. Then, she's not just seeing ghosts of her and Owen in Nashville, she's seeing OWEN in Nashville.
3Totally unprepared for the kind and compassionate man who's eager to drop in for a quick visit or scoop Ally up for a puppy-buying afternoon, Ally is reluctant to trust that Owen will be the man she hoped for once upon a time. Plus, she's kinda pissed that he'd make all these changes, now, when they can't make a difference for her and Owen. So she thinks. While Ally's busy building walls to protect her heart, Owen's sneakily pulling them down brick by brick.
I liked Owen's determination, and I respected Ally's reluctance. I'm a 'once bitten twice shy' kinda gal myself, but even I got melted a bit by Owen's patient and relentless attack on her fears. At times I struggled with the angsty pace of the book, wishing we could get to the action already, but I did enjoy.
