I can honestly say that there wasn't a single redeeming feature for me about this book. It's a painfully boring, story free, vapid, badly written sequence of words strung together. I actually gave up quite early on when I was cringing to myself on every page and asking myself why I was putting myself through reading it any longer, It's everything I hate in this genre, the sick making lines such as , "you're wet for me aren't you?", from the neanderthal knobhead of a lead male, within minutes of the 2 main protagonists meeting. Then the pathetic female sucking his face, basically dry humping him, then of course being disgusted with herself before doing it again within 2 minutes. Utter tosh. One of the most unrealistic, stilted writing styles I've ever read. The many many sex scenes were yawn worthy and the characters did absolutely nothing for me...not a single one of them, from their utterly ridiculous names to their shallow and pathetic thoughts and dialogue, they left me completely cold.
Would have returned for a refund if it weren't free already and free or not I feel cheated out of precious reading time.
Dire.

Hot damn - why did I wait so long to read this one!?! This was one of the best of MC books I have read in a while - plenty of sass, potty mouth, and, oh my, heat. Nix and Kadence just play off each brilliantly and I love the way Kadence doesn't take any messing from Nix and pretty much brings the MC President to his knees. She is so full of sass and strength that her interactions with Nix are pure pleasure to read. The dangers of an MC are not shirted but this is, for the most part, a clean MC. Awesome read and brilliantly written. It sparkled brightly.

★Review★

Ah, I really did enjoy this.

(although, again another book with an awful bitch of an ex wife/mother of the hero's child - I am really starting to dislike that as a plot device)

But even given that, I still enjoyed this book.

Nix, was a hot, Alpha, dirty talking biker. He gets what he wants, when he wants. Until he meets Kadence!

Kadence wants nothing to do with him at first, despite the attraction she feels. She is still suffering from awful events from 3 years before, not to mention Nix is the father of one of her students.

However, the sexual attraction between these 2 was off the charts. The build up to them becoming a couple was great, and I loved the cast of secondary characters.

I really loved this book, but there were a couple of issues that stopped it being a 5.

One, the aforementioned hatred of the awful ex wife used as a plot device.

Two, all the worry over Nix being the father of one of her students, and nothing ever came from that, in all honesty, other than her mentioning maybe once she had to go to work, she could have quit her job for all the mention it got given after the first couple of chapters.

And three, it is an MC book, but a very light MC book. The MC itself, is now clean, but a lot of the drama was sort of glossed over, or handled by another club - dealt with off page and not by Nix and his boys. I just felt like sometimes it was "if you want to write an MC book, then just write one!" They were almost too clean, and did not really deal with the issues themselves, It was all sorted and dealt with with a neat happy bow.

But, still a great read and a strong start to a new series. I am very much looking forward to Sy's book.

Kadence Turner is a teacher and when one of her pupils Zayden gets in trouble fighting she calls in his parents, when Nix, Zayden's father walks through the door she's not prepared for her reaction to him, in fact she can't believe it, apart from the fact that she doesn't want or need a man he's from the local MC and she has very strong reasons for hating bikers and everything to do with them but she can't seem to help this attraction she feels towards Nix.
Kadence fights her attraction the best she can and she does fight hard after all her ex Zane should have been enough to put her off men forever but Nix is not a man used to the word no and every time she steps back he steps forward and let's face it Nix is seriously hot and so good with Zayden, it's a lethal combination on top of which he's cleaned up the Knights Rebels MC so at some point she's got to ask herself exactly what she's fighting for, then she grasps another straw, he's the parent of one of her pupils so of course dating's not a good idea.
This is a softer MC book than I'm used to and if MC books aren't generally your thing you might still like this, although be warned it's not soft on sex it has lots of that. The secondary characters are great and strong which is what you'd expect from the first book in a new series, I mean if the first book doesn't have interesting characters it's not going to inspire you to read the rest.
Not only did I love Nix, I know who doesn't, but I loved Kadence as well she's gutsy and strong and gives as good as she gets, I loved Z and the rest if the Rebels plus Holly so it looks like I'm hooked on another series, can't wait for Sy's book, now that should be an interesting read I can't wait to find out what been going on there.
