Format: Hardcover
Breathtaking photo's accompanied by well-put explaining text. The book provides a glimpse of the difficult life of Berber woman. Many personal stories. The daily chores, traditional techniques and religion are all examined. Excellent book to get to know the Berber culture and hard life in extreme climate. The introduction on how the project originated and how hard it was to investigate and photograph these people is interesting and adds an extra layer. Perfect book if you like photo's and to the point information. It perfectly succeeds in showing the struggling person behind the traditions.

This book presents an excellent survey of Berber crafts. That all of the drafts represented are done by women, is of special interest. The photos are beautiful, both of the women, and of their crafts. The text provides great insight into the history and meaning of the designs used. This book is a must for anyone interested in tribal arts and crafts.
