Product description

About the Author

Wyken Seagrave is a scientist, software engineer, teacher, lecturer, inventor, science communicator, publisher and entrepreneur.

The history of the Universe (sometimes called “Big History”) is his lifelong obsession. He is the author of the History of the Universe website at historyoftheuniverse.com

Time Crystal retells this story as an engaging work of fiction which will appeal to those who would not normally read what is usually called science-fiction. Wyken has gone to extraordinary lengths to make his novel as accurate as possible within the constraints of writing a superb story.

Obviously, a story which covers the whole history of the universe is going to be fairly long, so there will be many volumes in the series. At present, nobody knows how many, but he expects the work to keep him busy for at least the next ten years. Follow and support him in this great adventure.

I think the five star reviews were written by family members. The give away is the bottom line, talking about value. £12 for a paperback isn't good value. Everything goes downhill from here. The theory that black holes are actually holes in space was disproved a long time ago, so the science doesn't work at all. The fiction is no better, and is actually just a load of words telling the reader what's happening, instead of letting the characters do it. There are also some pretty bad pictures. Anyone who's read a real book before will almost certainly think this a waste of money.
Overall, this is just a self-published ego trip.

Not being a great fan of Science Fiction. This would rarely, if ever be found on my Kindle. However I was pleasantly surprised and hooked after the first few chapters.
The author describes the characters perfectly. I could visualise, hear and feel a real empathy with them. This novel is a definite page turner. I was eager to read what was going to happen next. I was never, once disappointed. There is a mixture of characters, relationships and emotions all packed into one book. Not what I would usually expect from such a novel. It would appeal to any reader.
Seagrave cleverly ends the novel - leaving the reader grasping for the next instalment. He promises us further novels and I eagerly and impatiently await the next novel.
A must read, at a bargain price!

An amazing book - I literally could not put it down..and I was reading it in Acrobat! Not the easiest format but it didn't matter, I wanted to know what happened next each time I had to leave it. I have a huge interest in The Hadron Collider so it was a foregone conclusion that I would enjoy this book and I wasn't disappointed. A great story - one that I can not wait to read the next episode of - with very complex characters and even more complex relationships. The author manages to combine his obvious extensive knowledge of the subject with an incredible imagination. I loved it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read 24 Sept. 2014

Nice change of pace from all the romance novels, love stories and vampire books surrounding us. I added an extra star because of a pre-existing knowledge of the atom splitter at Brookhaven national lab that made the book more interesting to me

3.0 out of 5 stars Didn't love or hate it, but kept reading it every night. 2 April 2014

Even having finished this, I'm not quiet sure how I felt about it. I found the science topics and tale to be really interesting overall, and the author really built the characters and the world. I personally am not big on stories that depend heavily on character development, so that may be why I'm luke warm about the story. Despite that, I found myself crawling into bed and reading a little bit every night before sleep, and am highly considering continuing the series. I hadn't found a book interesting enough to finish in years and I love mysteries and the curiosity's got me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Truly bizarre, utterly unique 3 Jan. 2013

I've never read a novel quite like this before. The author takes you on an exciting adventure full of unforgettable and vivid imagery. Solidly written with each character's personality shining through. If you find physics fascinating you will not be disappointed by the author's keen intellect and clear understanding of this most challenging (for me anyway) scientific subject. This is not a novel I will forget anytime soon, I would highly recommend it.

good idea - not my writing style - not worth the effort. Really quite silly in other dimensions creatures and time bubbles.

I just couldn't resonate with the plot and the occupants of the other universe. The frozen time environment was also too weird for me. Sorry.
