If you definitely have ITBS and you haven't sought any information about how to treat it then this is a good one-book-go-to on the subject.

Having said that all the information in this book is contained in most running manuals along with much more. Running Well (1856267253) for example is cheaper, has more exercises/stretches and has lots of extra information and rehab routines too.

This is a very thin book and yet I found it the opposite of concise in places. I was disappointed to find a lot of the information was regurgitated general information not specifically relating to ITBS. For example, the author tells us to make sure we don't drink too much water and get Hyponatremia and he has a whole sub-chapter on eating anti-oxidants.

I also personally felt the book was overly pessimistic in the first half and advised the reader of a myriad of things they shouldn't do (e.g. walk up stairs, run on grass) when a simple sentence reading "avoid activity that causes pain and do as much pain free exercise as you can" would have saved pages of text that might make the reader feel like a fragile invalid who would be better off staying in bed. Not what anyone recovering from an injury wants to hear.

A useful text if you have no other information on how to deal with lower leg strengthening/stretching but for an 80 page book £11 is not good value for money given the other sources of the exact same information that are available.

This was a good book for understanding ITBS. The are some good exercises in it, but it's nothing groundbreaking or new that's not easily seen or found for free online.

I guess if a person is buying a book on ITBS, he or she has researched the heck out of it, right? Well, I know I have. I bought this book out of desperation since I have a nagging ITBS issue. The book provided no new information or stretches for ITBS that I didn't already know. Save your money and do some easy and free research on the internet.

It did help with my understanding of just what the I.T. band is and how it functions. But he best was the photos on how to stretch and strengthen my legs. I am improving every day.
