About the Author
Homer is a legendary ancient Greek poet, traditionally said to be the author of the two great epics of Greek history: the Iliad and the Odyssey. Both books are considered landmarks in human literature, and Homer is therefore often cited as the starting point of Western literary and historical tradition. Stephanie L. Budin earned her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. She lives in Camden, NJ.

What I do not like about this book is that its translated and displayed on pages like a novel rather than epic.
Nonetheless Butlers translation is good quality and pleasant to read.
I recommend this to anyone (although if you have never before read Homer's work, you want to read it and you dont care about the cover - penquin paperback will be much better for you)!
I would go for Butler's translation mainly because of his invocation to Illiad which i believe became famous in english more than any other version
'Sign, O goddess, the anger of Achilles, son of peleus, that brought countless ills upon the Acheans!'
Marvellous! This one sentence and beautiful cover make the book worth its price!
