This is just a great gift to buy for yourself! The sense of anticipation once you have placed your order and with each day you wonder if postie will drop this hefty package through your letter box. Once you have the goods in your mitts, the struggle to rip off the packaging and chuck the first of the three discs (2 CDs, 1 DVD) on to your CD player will be followed by 90 minutes of heads-down thrash that'll take you back to 1987. If you've never heard of Sacred Reich, don't let the dodgily evocative name put you off - the politics are left wing, not right. The main album, Ignorance, is a storming thrash masterpiece that is up there with the likes of Slayer, Megadeth, Testament et al. The songs are huge, the guitars crunch and wail and the speed is as impressive as anything in the thrash heyday, when this album was originally released. The Surf Nicaragua EP is a stone classic and the political nous behind the title track and others such as One Nation is another reason - if you needed one - to BUY THIS NOW! The War Pigs cover is a gem (for Sabbath fans, you also get a bonus cover of Sweetleaf on the main CD), but all other songs on the CD are at least on a par. The third disc, a DVD, serves to tell you a little more about the band at the time. At a tenner, this awesome package is a bargain - do yourself a favour...

A real thrashers fan know they must have this, i'm talking about the album 'Ignorance'.
Massive brutal thrash that take will quarter your body, this is a great thrash album, that's why i love the band, definitely their best effort.
From the first track to the last, all great songs, killing riffs, awsome solos, no fillers at all, maybe the album too short (without the bonuses). If anyone is searching for a reason why to love this kind of music, here is the answer, an eargasm experience.
Can recommend of any top track because the whole album is one big top track!
For those who have this edition, you earned the EP 'Surf Nicaragua', which contain the self titled track that one of their funniest songs. Also you got bonus tracks on both cd's, which contain a cover song to Judas Priest with Rob Halford himself! And the demo before the 'Ignorance' release.
So you need another reason for buying it? you have another bonus dvd. All together are one big candy.
Any metal fan should own it, especially thrash metal fan and for those who don't know Sacred Reich, start from here. Enjoy!

What a beautiful present : SURF NICARAGUA!!CULT!!
3 discs special edition... That's a real surprise : the reedition of their their two first albums and a DVD, very good value! The two CDs include all songs with an excellent, improved sound, much better than the original ones and also some demos and unreleased versions: a cover from Judas Priest...with Rob Halford himself !!! The DVD includes a video and interview, a short movie about the band and, cherry on the top : LIVE SHOW FROM DYNAMO OPEN AIR 1989...... For those of you who don't SR they were one of the best trash band...(and NOT a naz* band by the way !!! check out the lyrics). They played in Switzerland along with Sepultura. And not to forget : a new coverprint form P.Stottler the tatoo artist... I can only dream about that band coming back together for some more headbangin'trash...

This is an excellent value re-issue of Sacred Reich's debut album 'Ignorance' and thier follow-up EP 'Surf Nicuragua' alongside a slew of bonus tracks and a DVD. Sacred Reich never really made it out of the massed ranks of 'second division' thrash metal bands, and to be honest the reason is clear enough here, as the majority of this material is composed of rather second-hand early Slayer and Metallica style riffs, rather than anything startlingly original. However, this is still good honest well-played thrash, and enjoyable enough on it's own terms. A little generic - but a worthwhile purchase for fans of the genre.
