You always get a clue with a Hammer film - is it directed by Terence Fisher? If it is, invaribly its a classic or least a good film. Fisher made no Turkeys... In this case it is directed by Fisher so you ensured of a quality film.

Herbert Lom stars in the title role as a disfigured musician who has been ripped off by Lord Ambrose (Michael Gough). He seeks his revenge by ruining the opera's that Lord Ambrose is staging. It may look a bit hammy now but Fisher maintains some sense of menace and the cast do a good job.

The Opera scenes are well staged and I believe professionally recorded.
Overall this is a decent Hammer film thats well worth getting at the right price.
