Beginning- Good. Enjoyed it and it set the scene well. A few typos in the first handful of chapters but only then.

Middle- Verging on the territory I tend to steer away from, but it was ok and not too much for someone who doesn't usually read this genre of literature.

Late middle- EXCELLENT! This is where the real action takes place. I love a bad guy! I really enjoyed that part a lot.

End- Won't give away any spoilers, but it was well written.

Other comments- I could really identify with Asher (having had a dreadful childhood myself) and his conflicts within himself, especially with regards to relationships. The bad guy was great! Overall, a well written, thought provoking read!

Well what can I say.......Only that M.A. Stacie has gone and done it again.....a fantastic book full of highs and lows, with a underlying love story. Emotions run high from the first chapter, and you feel like your chasing a story, where you know how you want it to end, but then a new feeling emerges and takes the story to another dimension. Ash at times feels like a lost soul that you feel only he can drag himself back from, but he learns to take control of his past and move on with his future.
How many people can relate to my favourite line in the book - "You should know that scars only show what path we've walked. It doesn't show anyone the journey I'm taking?"
Just brill, I wouldn't have expected anything less.

***ARC provided in exchange for an honest review - Naomi / Scandalous Book Blog***

The dedication in this book stayed with me throughout my read and it's still in my thoughts now,

“For anyone who has ever been hurt
By those who should love you the most,
your happy ever after is waiting.
You just have to trust. I promise”

I knew this was going to be a hard-hitting and emotional read just from that alone but what I found was a story of struggles, loss, finding oneself, acceptance, friendship, and love.

"Its amazing how one simple act of kindness can help change someone’s life."

Asher and Emma’s story started when they were both at school, Asher was a bit of a loner and he was struggling with things no one should ever have to. Emma was a ray of sunshine in his dark life that showed him kindness.

Emma came from money, but she was far from using this to her advantage. She helped Asher all them years ago as she seen a boy struggling. But she has never forgotten about him and thought of him often.

Fast forward a few years and their paths cross again. Emma wants to help and also finds herself having feelings for Asher, but Asher is a very complicated man.

I would love to carry on telling you Asher and Emma’s story but I don’t want to spoil this Heart-warming beautiful read so if you want to find out more join them on their journey by one clicking this book.

Asher struggled growing up, and has been left permanently scarred by his past. But one act of kindness from a girl named Emma changed his life forever. 10 years on and when neither of them expect it, Asher and Emma meet again, and something sparks between them. With both of their lives having a taken it's direction that night ten years ago, they find themselves thrown together in unexpected ways, and experiencing a connection like no other...

Wow. Just wow. I'm finding it really hard to find the words to sum up Igniting Ash, it was one of those stories that just moved me for so many reasons that I don't really know where to begin when telling my thoughts. There are some tricky topics navigated in the book, including domestic abuse towards children, but I thought that Stacie dealt with those subjects in a way that made them real, horrifying and not insurmountable.

I loved the progressing relationship between Emma and Asher. Yes there was definitely chemistry there from the offset, but they spent at least half of the book establishing a friendship between them without the interruption of sex. And it worked! Especially with the effect that Asher's past had on him, and I liked seeing it progress at a normal rate.

There were several side characters in the story, for good and for bad, and the most notable was Gabe. He seemed to have a good affect on both Emma and Asher but in different ways, and really helped show Emma's caring side.

Asher is one seriously complicated character, whenever something is said or done it's a toss up between how he's going to react to it, he is quite possibly one of the most complex characters I have come across so far... And the best bit? It just makes him even more lovable! Emma is a strong female character, I honestly can't imagine many people would put up with Asher and his many walls, and seeing as Asher is so lovable this just makes me like Emma all the more! Gabe is another character that really pulls on your heartstrings and his whole story had my heart lodged in my throat!

Asher and Emma's story isn't easy... In fact that's an understatement, their story is full of ups and downs, for most of the book it seems that for every step forward they take they're taking two backwards. Igniting Ash is a really emotional read and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to find out it had already claimed some tears, it just has that feel to it, you can't help but become attached to these characters so naturally they're going to hold your heart in the palm of their hands. I adored every little thing about their story, from teenagers to adults, it was just so uniquely them.

All in all I loved this book and these characters, they have firmly rooted themselves in my heart :)
