Great story line and good characters. The only thing that spoils the book is the poor spelling and comprehension. A pity, as I was looking out for further mistakes, with took my mind off the story.

This book is amazing and now added to one of my favourite reads so far this year. Its a beautifully, touching love story that will keep you turning page after page.
Lola Lawson escapes from her abusive boyfriend Rick and heads back home…home to Cabin Lakes, where her parents best friends live and a place her parents loved to b.,She hasn’t been back here for 16 years.
What she didn’t bank on was her school crush Dean Salvatore all grown up hot and sexy.Dean …what a man….hot caring protective and tries tobreak through to Lola find out what happened to her and break through the wall shes built around herself.Things are rekindled between them.Scenes between these two characters are touching emotional and moving. But just as Lola starts to feel shes moving on with her life her past walks right back into it.Will Lola be able to face her demons of the past head on this time?Or will she run again? Will Dean be able to help her and will these two be together???? Read this book it’s a fantastic debut by a talented author .Lisa takes you on an emotional young of a young woman trying to escape her past and find a new life and maybe love. Its an emotional read too I was hooked from the first pages the characters are easy to connect to and there are also other characters that are enjoyable to read about in the story too.Lisa Helen Gray is definitely an author to look out for! reviewed for kellys konfessions

In the last few weeks, I have read all of lisa Helen grays books, I started with reading Malik, the Carter brother's series, which was fantastic, and I am currently waiting for the next Carter brothers book. I then read all of the forgotten series, again it was absolutely fantastic, and now this one which was so good I couldn't put it down, this author is definitely one of my favourites.

What a fantastic story this was you can certainly see where Lisa Helen Gray is going with her leading male characters, sexy, passionate and completely devoted, no nastiness, I'm talking about Dean of course, it's beautiful, don't ever change it. Yes there was some spelling and dictation mistakes but so what the story was portrayed brilliantly it didn't matter and don't forget this is Lisa's debut novel. It was gripping stuff throughout especially towards the end it had all the ingredients you could wish for..!
Let me tell you, I read "Better left forgotten" first which is L.H.G. 2nd novel and there are no dictation /spelling mistakes
and be prepared for another outstanding read.. 5* easy
Very talented Author, thank you and I'm looking forward to more..!!

This is a fantastic novel that had me gripped from the start.

The story is centred around the two main characters Lola and Dean. Lola is trying to escape her past and start a new life having just fled from an abusive partner. She moves back to her families cabin and meets up with her childhood friend Dean. The two immediately reconnect and their feelings for each other develop. Lola knows that Dean will not hurt her in any way and begins to open up to him about her past. I won't give anything away but I will say that you really must read this or add it to your TBR.

It is beautifully written and a very emotional read - I believe that you won't be disappointed. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

This book brought out so many emotions in me, I felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster. I am going to try and make this review make sense. After I finished reading this book I was left with a massive book hangover. I haven’t even been able to start anything new, I had to re read one of my favourite books to try and clear my head. Just like Lisa’s previous books that I have read, I was instantly gripped and felt like I was inside the book watching the story happen. There was a line that the heroine Lola said during the book that connected with my heart because every single word is true to me, the line was ‘’ Whenever I read a good book I get lost in the story. It’s like watching a movie inside my mind and everything around me is still. Nothing else exists’’. I love both hero and heroine in this story but I also loved Lola’s new best friends, Pagan and Brooke. This book takes its readers on a journey of escape, love, grief and acceptance of the future. Lola is an awesome character, she is strong, caring, loving and she is an awesome friend! Dean is Lola’s protector and he will do anything to keep the love of his life safe. I was in tears at parts of this story, I was completely balling my eyes out at the in between after life scene with Lola’s parents & the letter at the wedding scene. I will definitely be re reading this book again in the future.

When Lola Lawson lost her parents when she was twelve years old, she shut out her parent’s best friends and their children. Now sixteen years later and on the run from an abusive boyfriend, Lola returns to Cabin Lake and the comforting arms of the family she shut out so many years ago. Being back at Cabin Lake brings back a lot of happy memories; Lola struggles to remember why she ever shut out the Salvatore’s.
