About the Author

Sigurður Ægisson is an Icelandic ethnozoologist. He's written four books; the first one in 1996 on Icelandic birds (Ísfygla : Aves Islandicæ; published in Icelandic only), the second one in 1997, on Icelandic whales (Íslenskir hvalir : fyrr og nú; in English: Icelandic whales : past and present, and in German: Die Wale Islands : Geschichte und Gegenwart), the third one in 2008, on Icelandic beastlore (Íslenskar kynjaskepnur; in English: Meeting with monsters), and the fourth one in 2010 on whales of the North Atlantic (Hvalir; in English: Whales).
