5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful way of conveying messages of life in a simple story 6 Sept. 2016
By Kevin Riley - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I read this fascinating story on a train ride to go hiking. Just about missed my station. This story about a water drop (previously ice) flowing down rivulets, streams, and rivers to the ocean carried me along (pardon the river pun). I soon forgot that Adrian Icedrop was a water drop, as he became a sentient being who I cheered for as he embarked on his journey.

Dr. Mani has woven a story that motivates and makes you question, all while enjoying a simple adventure story. Obviously, a lot of thought went into crafting this story.

I highly recommend it, especially for younger people who may be in need of some guidance in life. This book will open your eyes.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Book about Adrian the Icedrop, and His Adventures, Contains Very Sweet and Poweful Life Lessons 9 Sept. 2016
By Anne P. Mitchell - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
The Ice Drop is a metaphor (or an allegory, if you will) for not only the cycle of life, but for the quest for the answer to that eternal question, "What is the meaning of life" - along with a sweet helping of self-determinism and law of attraction thrown in, all written at a level that even a child can understand. In fact, it reads very much like some of our more beloved children's books - it's an adventure, with a protagonist that is sweet, inquisitive, and open.

What makes this story unique is that the protagonist, Adrian, is an 'ice drop' (like a frozen drop of water). At least, he starts out that way.

Throughout the book, from start to finish, you follow the adventures of Adrian the Icedrop, and each section (and each adventure) conveys life lessons in sweet, engaging ways.

This is a really novel (no pun intended) book for several reasons, not the least of which is considering the life cycle of water drops, using an ice drop has a main character, and the author's imagining of what it would be like to be that ice drop / water drop / vapor drop, at each stage, and with each adventure encountered. He does a great job of imagining what every step of the way would be like for his main character, and then putting a voice to it!

Highly recommended for people of all ages - from the youngest child to whom you would have to read it, to the oldest - there's truly something for everyone in this book!

I was already familiar with Dr. Mani's work as a leading philanthropic pediatric heart surgeon in India, and his foundation through which life-saving heart surgery is donated to children whose families otherwise would not be able to afford it. He does amazing work, making a real difference in the lives of many children (and their families), and so I jumped at the chance to read a book written by him! It's lovely that he's written about the cycles of life, much like the journeys that the children he has saved will be able to have because of his donating his time and expertise to provide them with... well... life!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Icedrop melted my heart and warmed my soul. 14 Sept. 2016
By Val Han - Published on Amazon.com

Not since Jonathan Livingston Seagull have I read such a charming, delightful and profound allegorical novel. As Adrian Icedrop journeys through life's situations and relationships, ever deeper wisdom on the meaning and purpose of life is revealed in startling ways. I don't want to say much more as I don't want to reveal too much. Suffice it to say, Adrian Icedrop's lessons and words stay with me still and I expect will echo at various times for many years to come.

I found this evening length book to be a relaxing and satisfying read.

I received a review copy and this is my completely honest review. I absolutely love the book.
5.0 out of 5 stars The UNIVERSE is the only one who knows that you were never CREATED with LIMITATIONS ~ 12 Mar. 2017
By dileepa Lawrence-Hewa - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I read the book in pre release state & here's my take on its lessons as they unfold:
Lesson One ~ A reminder to be grateful to the 'Universe'. Aren't we all, a part of it ?
Lesson Two ~ The writer has taken a tiny speck of the large natural surrounding bound with energy. He's made this little speck abound with energy to be able to think. I found another reminder telling me I have a purpose, for being here. It further told me that I possess the ability to do what I have set my mind to. [ We often refer to what's left after utilizing natural energy as waste].
Lesson Three ~ To realize within each and every one of us how much untapped power we've got - that's going wasted.
When that happens one cane be certain of having the reached the stage of becoming 'EVER so GRATEFUL to the mighty UNIVERSE - one is part of !!
A book that every one should read, to be galvanized into the get-set mode & then, GO!

5.0 out of 5 stars Small.Yet Significant 8 Sept. 2016
By Arun A - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Small. Yet Significant.Yes,any living thing in this world has a purpose. The book tells you this in an amazing way. The author takes you upon a magical journey across the world in the form a Icedrop. Travel they say makes one wiser. The Icedrop travels across the world and gathers information from its fellow travelers and becomes wiser at the end of his journey. We learn many things in this world by many means.A difficult question would probably linger in everyone's mind "What's the purpose of my life?". The author has given answers to this difficult question in a very lucid and simple way. I read the book from end to end without placing it down. A must read for all.

Best wishes to Dr. Mani for "The Icedrop".

Excellent

Arun
