As an asteroid hits Earth, Manny (Ray Romano), Ellie (Queen Latifah), Sid (John Leguizamo), Diego (Denis Leary) and the gang decide to pack up their things and move as far away as possible from the falling boulders. As they embark on an epic journey to find a new home, they come across some new and exciting sights as well as some interesting characters. Scrat (The Acorn chasing squirrel), is as always the master of impending doom for the others but brilliantly done in this one. They manage to med modern day concepts into the Ice Age World they all live in. We also see the return of Buck the one eyed hero to being as crazy and cool as ever.
Its a great ride, well scripted, the pace keeps you engrossed until the end, well worth watching. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that after 4 previous versions the characters have become more like friends we know and thus the surprises are just that slight bit less as you can often work out whats coming next. But don't let that detract from what is a great film in its own right against the others.
Although I would suggest watching the others first if you have not seen them as there are a lot of interactions in this one that will not make sense and would detract a little from the enjoyment.
DVD film not used yet but it is an excellent film and the disc sent is new and sealed and I’m sure it will meet expectations.
