Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Useful for measuring thickness of cycle wheel rims
This is a very simple product that can be used to measure how worn the rims of a cycle wheel with rim brakes are. Some rims have built in wear indicators, but others don't. If they don't it can be really hard to tell how worn the rim is, and when it needs replacing with a new one. This device allows you to measure to within 0.2mm across the depth of the rim, so you can see if any part of the rim has worn to less than 1mm, (or whatever thickness you choose as the cut-off for replacement). Photo shows what happened to my rim when I kept riding on it when it was worn, which is what made me buy some calipers....

Bought this to measure thickness of bicycle rims, difficult to do with most callipers due to the lip getting in the way, these are easy to use and fit the rim ok. Accuracy is a bit off, the pointer doesn't quite line up with zero on the scale when the jaws are closed it's out by around .1mm. I've tested it with some feeler guages and the error is consistent up to 4mm so it's easy enough to mentally compensate for the error. Reasonable value for money but if you need accuracy bellow .1mm maybe spend more.
Consigliato!
