I bought this canoe/kayak (sorry, never really know the difference) after using a similar one on holiday a few years ago. We use it on rivers and lakes and its never let us down. We've not tried it on coastal waters yet - it may be too light for that.

Don't be fooled by the fact that its inflatable - its made of very sturdy stuff and has put up with some severe punishment over the years - anyone who's ever tried to navigate the river tees around darlington will know what I'm talking about !

Its easy to pump up - with the pump provided it probably takes about 10 mins. We've got an electric one so its up in 5 mins and the boston valves make it really quick to deflate. The bag it comes in is about the size of a holdall and its very easy to get it back in the bag after use.

The one thing I don't like about it are the paddles - for a 2 man kayak I prefer to use t-bar paddles rather than the twin bladed ones so if you're like me you'll have to buy these separately.

Fundamentally, I really don't know why this is classed as a toy - the weight limit is something like 150kg and certainly as 2 adults we've never had any buoyancy issues. Its also easy to manoevre - we've fly-fished off the front of it.

For the price and convenience of being able to pack it in the boot of the car this is a "toy" I highly recommend to anyone looking to get out on the rivers/lakes. If you're into serious sport then this probably isn't for you.

We purchased this inflatable kayak on Saturday 03 August and received it on Wednesday 07 August, just three working days later.
It was much used throughout the day on the following Saturday by our family group, the youngest being just 8yrs old and the eldest 67yrs. The general consensus is that it is a good size, easy to inflate, very stable, great fun and definately not a toy!
We used it off the coast in a slightly choppy sea and we even tried to over turn it, which we did after much effort. It packs up into a holdall which should fit into most car boots. Overall we are very pleased with it. The reason why we didn't give it a 5 star rating is because two people of our ten persons group, found that if you sit in the front, it is possible to catch the edge of your hands against the upper inner edge of the seating area where there is a joint between two sections of the kayac material. Where this affected the two people concerned, it caused a small blister but nothing more.
If you are looking for very economic fun kayac, then we would most definately recommend this one.

I have been meaning to get an inflatable kayak for at least 2 years, but was always put off by the high £200+ prices for the kayaks that I wanted. I finally 'bit the bullet' and purchased the Intex K2 Challenger, (after reading many reviews).

I paid under £90 for the kayak, and wasn't really sure what performance to expect as I had never been on an inflatable before. My initial thoughts upon starting off in the kayak was sturdy, comfortable, and light (which proved to be an issue later on). I was headed up-steam against a moderate current, and keeping the kayak in a straight line was almost impossible. I would be paddling straight (ish) for about 20 seconds, and then suddenly it would start to spin...I've done a lot of kayaking and definitely do not put this down to 'lack of experience'. On the other hand, heading down stream is fun! You can actually pick up quite a bit of speed as you 'glide' across the water.

I would recommend this kayak to someone who wants to spend the odd weekend relaxing down the river on SHORT journeys. This kayak is definitely not for long ones!

I bought this so I could take the kids for rides in the canal - which it does brilliantly. It is very stable and comfortable in the water. It's quite wide though so you have to make sure the kids sit in the middle of the seat otherwise you end up leaning over in the water. Because it's wide my hands rub a bit on the sides as I row but that may be just the way I sit in the rear seat. There's lots of room in the kayak for things, like remote controlled boats (which the kids drive whilst I paddle :) ), or empty beer cans that I pick up that people have thrown in the canal :( or a snack bag for the kids.
My only issue is that one of the paddle connectors broke, and the top air bag split (it wasn't over-inflated) - both problems were handled very quickly by the sellers. A new set of paddles was sent out, and a courier was sent out to collect the split body. A replacement is on its way.
