Let me first of all start by telling you that in my opinion, this is easily the best book in the series so far.

We left Shay bound and gagged and jump right back into the action. And frankly, the pace of the book simply doesn’t let up from there. Spectre is becoming bolder, and Bailey more unhinged.

The author does a really great job of conveying the fear and confusion in not only Shay’s mind, but the minds of those around her. The writing style has you hopping from one character to another, and whilst in some books, this can be distracting, I found that here, it helps to ratchet up the tension.

The story tantalises, with answers just beyond your reach. And cliffhangers? Hang onto your hats people. I’m not sure you will see it coming! I didn’t.

For the nerds amongst us, there is a neat Star Wars “midi chlorians” reference, together with a nice kaiju reference. (I had to look it up – for that reason, I’m not going to tell you what it is!). There is also humour. I particularly liked Carl’s “sweating like a white mouse in a tampon factory” reference. Maybe not the most high brow or romantic quote you can take from this book, but hey – don’t judge!

Overall, this is a cracking next chapter to Shay’s story. The writer does a fabulous job of immersing you into the slow descent into madness that is taking over Shay’s life. Enjoy!

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed the first two, particularly the first one because of the fresh take on a supernatural story and the way the author withheld information to keep the mystery and intrigue going plus the characters were interesting, but the writing has become ridiculous. Again and again, like a cheesy soap, just as the character is about to reveal the secret, the doorbell rings. Dun dun dunnn. Now we will never know! its overdone to the point of eye rolling. plus the dialogue has become repetitive and unrealistic with the way everyone overuses the characters names. generally the story is going nowhere,no questions are being answered, and its all becoming a bit silly. i actually gave up reading this book before the end and wont be buying any more from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love to Hate! Crazy Good! 5 Jun. 2014
By Twinsie Kelly - Published on Amazon.com

First, I must start by saying that my review jumps around a bit because I can't give everything away. Shay has been kidnapped but she is a fighter! She manages to see the culprit and is able to escape. With the help of McNab, he and Eli are able to find her. She is working through her traumatic experience while also dealing with a stalker, a dear person's death, while having another possible threat from the organization that her father works for. She is finally thrown in jail. Things aren't always as they seem. She is developing her powers and is growing wonderfully. Again, reader beware...this is a crazy rollercoaster of a story with a ton of twists and turns that will keep your head spinning. There is a huge surprise at the end. Once again Bella has written a phenomenal story that will make you love to hate her. Must Read!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Phenominal Paranormal 30 May 2014

This is probably one of the harder reviews I have had to write. Not because I hated this but but the oposite. I don't know how to put into words how much I loved this book!
I have followed these characters along the series thus far and grown quite attached to them. This is book 3 in the series and im so emotionally tied up with them.
Bella has the most incredible writing style, no one else compares to it. In a world of reputation this is refreshing and original. She captivated me from page one. Every time I thought I figured something out, I was wrong. I enjoy books that keep you guessing and entertained. It has the capability to blow your entire thought process to bits.
You will be immediately swept up in this action packed thriller. This is clearly my favorite in the series. I couldn't put it down. With each page I felt more and more like I was feeling what the characters felt. Don't get me wrong. Bella of course has her snarky, witty comments in here. She manages to add humor to help lighten this otherwise intense story.

My overall review. This is a must read. 5★ all the way.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Book in this Addictive Series 5 Jan. 2015
By Kristen Burns - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
The plot started to drag a bit in this one for me, but not so much that it was a problem. I still devoured the book in one sitting and was immediately ready for the next. Unfortunately, because I read them back to back, books 3 and 4 have blended together in my mind, so this is basically my review for both.

The thing that really keeps me hooked in this series is the characters. I haven't felt this emotionally invested in characters in a long time. Even if I don't personally relate to them, I empathize with them and care about them and understand them. The author has made wonderful use of first person. And what I love most is that, while Shay is the one continually judged for her emotional damage, most of the characters are broken in their own ways; it just doesn't show on the surface.

I also love the way these books go beyond show-don't-tell and literally make me feel what the characters feel. I get frustrated when people won't tell Shay. I feel confused and unsure of who to trust even though I get to see their thoughts. I feel pain when bad things happen.

Even though I'm giving it 4 stars because I'm picky about 5 star reviews when it comes to books, I'd definitely recommend this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read!!! 25 July 2014

I just finished INK: ABSTRACTION and couldn't help but write a review of this book. The way the story continues from book 2 (VANISHING POINT) was seamless. I had a hard time putting the story down so I could do other things. This story has many twists and turns that it had me guessing about the fate of a few of the characters. I recommend this book to anyone who has read all of the previous installments. The cliffhanger ending is keeping me in suspense as to what is going to happen next to Shay and those around her.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read! She's the queen of cliffhangers, 18 July 2014

Great read! She's the queen of cliffhangers, but keeps you involved and invested in the story. Just when you have it all figured out, she'll throw a curve at you! ' Can't wait for the next book!
