This book is well written and informative. It covers all aspects of Hypnotherapy, including inductions, deepeners and suggestive scripts. In depth chapters on anxiety, habits and pain.
Discusses the use of uncovering techniques such as regression and gives clear examples of their use in therapy.
Comprehensive notes towards the end of the book, together with an index of scripts.
Both authors work in UK and scripts are geared to UK clients rather than USA and do not need rewriting before use with clients in a therapy situation.

If you only had space for one book about hypnotherapy, this is the one to choose. Superb, no other training text comes close.

As a guide to starting in hypnotherapy, this book is great but don't expect any life changing revelations from this book. It explains everything in everyday language but only provides glimpses of hypnotic scripts, it require the reader to make up their own scripts and the book offers some tips. For the price of this book, there are cheaper and better books out there on hypnotherapy.

I hope the authors won't mind but I haven't bought the new edition ! I bought the first one 20 years ago when I was a newbie and I still read it every so often for its sheer good sense , solid advice and methodology , scripts, theory, clinical histories. I find it quite grounding. Its a great how to do it handbook for a beginner and packed with all the advice you need never to forget however experienced you are . The authors draw from a vast wealth of clinical expertise ( and that was 20 years ago) . I've got so many books on hypnosis I can't justify buying a second copy ( ok I'm a meanie )but if this is half as good as the first edition, buy it you won't be dissappointed.

I have purchased this as recommended for a course. I have almost finished it and I have found it to be well written and very useful as a solid foundation for the my course. The best of the recommended texts so far. It does exactly what it says "on the tin". Money well spent.
