I'd been hunting for a good set of gaming headphones for a while but they needed to meet a certain criteria. I'm an avid VR gamer (with the HTC Vive) and as such I need certain things from the headset which where the following:

    1) Good sound quality
    2) Comfy to wear for long periods.
    3) 7.1 Dolby for desktop gaming (which needs USB) but also a 3.5mm jack to plug into the Vive.
    4) Firm grip on my head (most headsets tend to slip off when jumping around in VR).
    5) Lightweight.
    6) Short lead.
    7) Good mic.
    8) Good for both music and gaming.

I've previously always used Plantronics Gamecon (and been very happy with them) but I needed to trade up.I had branched out in the last year to trying a wireless set from Turtle Beach (broke within 30 days of purchase and sounded awful), the Logitech G430 (painful to wear for anything longer than an hour) and the ARCTIC P533 headset (poor sound quality). All the while I kept avoiding the Cloud II as I felt they where over hyped.

Aside from one thing, they most certainly are not over hyped.

The 7.1 Dolby is "meh" at best (and honestly..I don't think you need it for normal gaming but it's all right when watching a movie on Netflix )...BUT..everything else about the headset is fantastic. It meet's all my requirements and I couldn't be happier. Everything about this headset screams quality and well built. They sound great and so far not once has the headset slipped from my ears when jumping around in VR.

Very happy with them and would most certainly recommend them to others.

Bought these for my girlfriend so I've only used them to test to be sure they are ok, however the little use I have had from them has not disappointed.

    Comfort and quality:
For the 30 minute session I used these for these were extremely comfortable, and even relaxing I might say. Adjusted properly they do not feel heavy like other headphones.
The ear pads are extremely soft and exude a high quality feel.

    Sound Quality:
These seemed to have excellent sound quality when compared to my standalone 7.1 speaker system and I found that each instrument was much easier to pick out when using these.

    Volume:
These can get extremely loud, so loud in-fact that when turned up to maximum volume we decided not to wear them and just leave them on the desk to listen to and I wouldn't even dare to put them on at this volume for fear of damaging my hearing.

    Ease of use:
Although I might have preferred a cordless version these as the cord does tend to get in the way a bit. For corded headphones these are excellent and I would highly recommend them.

I haven't tested the microphone yet so will update this review once I have had a chance to see how that performs.

I'm getting sick of headphones breaking on me, usually due to poor design and weak points, but the HyperX Cloud II don't have any obvious weakpoints, they fit very well and the inner metal (I believe) band ensures that they are sturdy and don't stretch overtime so they should never become loose on your head.
The ability to switch between audio jack and USB is very nice (Microphone requires the headset to be connected via USB).

I'm finding these perfect for use in VR, they fit well over the Vive and won't fall off when you look up and down.

Easily my new favourite brand of Headphones.

For the first 6 months this product was great, then I came home one day and it would not work. headphones would work when plugged directly into a jack socket but the USB soundcard would not. Can only get a replacement usb soundcard via the states. Have crosschecked multiple devices on the usb ports all fine except this. If I had paid £20 for this I would not be so bothered but I paid £70 expecting it to last at least 2 years, well what a waste of money. Should of just brought a separate mic and run it through my mixtrack pro. Do not waste your money on this

Comfortable, can wear it for hours on end.
Good sound, clear work/VOIP, music, and gaming.
Good mic, no one ever complains they can't hear me or that I'm unclear.
Works with a single-plug speaker/mic jack if you have that on your notebook (or phone).
Comes with a USB sound card incase you don't have a dual speaker/mic jack.
Mic is removable if you just want it for the sound.

I've bought 10 of these. One for me, 1 for my gf, one for my other friend, and the rest for people I work with overseas so we can communicate clearly. Everyone loves them.

1 for me. 1 for my girlfriend (who plays dota with them). 8 for people I work with remotely.

Very good quality sound and very comfy on the head. The microphone is where I'm getting a few problems. Everyone I speak to says I am very quiet and muffled but there are no options in windows to change this because it uses its own USB sound card (which doesn't have any software with it). I assume it'll be good for console players but for someone who's an audiophile and plays PC games, I'd go for another option.

I don't normally write about faults in reviews but my left earphone has started to become intermittent so I'll be returning these if it persists.
