Do you know :
How to shoot with a lightweight rifle?
What is the right kind of iron sights for each kind of terrain?
What is the influence of stock length in shooting or why should a “brush rifle” have a short stock.?
Well even if you do, I absolutely recommend that you read this book, and find almost all the answers you could have about rifles and rifle shooting.
The Author clearly explains all the aspects related to rifles and field shooting, in a very pleasant to read book. Once I received this book I read it three times in a row.
I’m sure that you will find this book a reference in any rifle’s enthusiast library and benefit immensely from the author vast knowledge and experience.
A must have for someone who loves rifles and hunting.

This book is basically about the history of hunting rifles and some applications of it in the field.
It is not a technically oriented book, however for those who like shooting and hunting and want a good read while learning something Mr van Zwell certainly delivers it in full!
In many ways it is similar to the Hunter's Guide to Long-Range Shooting, however the information in both is not exactly the same and I have enjoyed reading both one after the other.
It is well written, the chapters are clear and the technical issues are thoroughly explained without entering in too many technical detains. Overall a good read, even if you don't hunt and just like rifles.

Being relative new to the sport, this was an interesting read with some potentially useful information. I found it very USA centric, both in style and content so will have to pick out the useful bits for a UK based shooter - hence the 3 stars.
