I have read many reviews on Amazon (and also [...]) and people slate Hunter for an inferior product now production has moved to China. I think this may have been true in the early days of them setting up the production and tooling, but quality seems to have been alright for all the boots I've seen.
The only gripe is the blooming which can occur on all rubber boots, and does not seem age related but dependent on the particular batch of boots and then to different degrees. It's more noticeable on shiny boots like these Regents especially in cold weather and in the presence of water.Read more ›
Hunter Wellies are now a 'fashion statement', I need wellingtons for longevity and durability.
I was completely disgusted at the poor quality of the new Hunter Regent Wellies, the material is really thin and they look cheap. I could say more!!!
I have now invested in a pair of Le Chameau, a little more expensive, but worth it.
I don't usually write reviews, but I had to inform other buyers about the poor workmanship.
I was so happy when I first got these as they were the most comfortable wellies I had ever had. It felt like I was wearing slippers and I thought definitely well worth the money. Unfortunately my happiness was short lived as within 6 months the heels had worn right down and water was getting in. They also got a split in them around calf level as well as on the soles. The insides are still in excellent condition however. Very disappointed as can only wear them in dry weather now. Would not buy again.
However, after only a few months of not very heavy usage, both boots developed deep splits along the seams on top of the toe, making them unusable.
This left her extremely disappointed as they were purchased thinking the Hunter name meant quality and they would last.
After reading other reviews of Hunter and seeing similar comments, they will be replaced by Aigle. It seems that Hunter now manufacture their boots cheaply in the far east, with poor quality control, whereas Aigle still manufacture them in France.
Five stars to the retailer Surfdome; they were extremely good and refunded the purchase without question as the faults had developed within the guarantee period.

I bought these wellingtons expecting them to last. They were ok for about a year, then the tops split and they are no longer wearable. Read morePublished on 18 Feb. 2014 by L A REYNOLDS

I loved my Hunter Wellington, they looked good, were comfortable and warm. Unfortunately the soles as of inferior quality, not what you expect from a boot at this price. Read morePublished on 1 April 2013 by Michelle Ferguson
