I contacted Hunter directly, who could only suggest I take them to a local cobblers, since they do not offer a repairs service. Since I have had them over a year, I am not eligible for a return.
For a product at this price I think it is very poor that they have worn so quickly. I will not buy Hunters again.
The search will go on for good quality, comfortable, warm welly boots!
I don't go 'working'- I just wanted a decent, comfortable pair of wellies for walking the dog, twice a day.
The boots as so comfortable and extremely warm. Can't really say much more than that. BUT, on the 9th day of wearing them, I noticed that my heel felt very sore. When I got home and took them off, I noticed that not only did I have a hole in the ankle in both socks, the neoprene lining had worn through to the rubber - in both boots! I spoke to Amazon who sent replacement (3rd!) pair.
The 3rd pair arrived on Monday 9th January. So, Tuesday morning, I start wearing the new boots. Today, 16th January - 6 days (12 walks) later, my socks have holes in the heels and the neoprene lining in both boots have worn through to the rubber!
So, I have given up on these boots and sent them back for a refund. If they only cost £20, I could sort of understand the failings and put up with them but when they are supposed to be of a certain quality, and they cost what they cost, I expect a lot more!
Shame really as when I had to wear my old 'cheapo' boots, it was like walking barefoot on concrete!
