About the Author

Jaime Reese is the alter ego of an artist who loves the creative process of writing, just not about herself. Fiction is far more interesting. She has a weakness for broken, misunderstood heroes and feels everyone deserves a chance at love and life. An avid fan of a happy ending, she believes those endings acquired with a little difficulty are more cherished.

I cant even put into words how much I enjoyed this book.

This was the second book in this series the first being A better man which I really enjoyed but this book was amazing.

Cam has just come to live in the halfway house after being released from prison following a 10 year sentence where he killed a man.

Hunter is a high powered attorney who after celebrating a mile stone birthday takes stock of his life and r3alises how alone he is.

A chance meeting at a diner has both men worlds turned upside down.

This book also has Matt and Julian but also introduces some new characters who I think will also be getting their own story.

I can't carry on with this review without mentioning Thomas (hunters dad) he is such a loving man who clearly loves his son amd only wants the best for him in life but be warned of some comments will make you cringe (in a good way).

Back to the main characters I loved the way thier friendship developed throughout the book. however this was not just a love story not even close this book was full of mystery twist turns and a whole lot of OMG moments.

Jaime has done an amazing job with this book and I cant wait for book three

Jamie Reese has done it again with A Haunted Man. She has written the second book in The Men of Halfway House, series brilliantly!

I was captivated from the beginning, so excited to see how Matt and Julian's relationship had grown. I was a little anxious as I knew this couple I had grown to love in the first book were not going to be the main characters. Then wham, along comes Cameron and Hunter who's story just broke me yet at the same time watching their relationship grow gave me a warm feeling.

This was a heart wrenching story to read, full of betrayal, suspense crime, love and most importantly learning to trust after being through hell for Ten years!
The storyline kept my attention throughout and had me trying to work out who had done what and why. I loved seeing how Hunter put the pieces of the puzzle together finally coming up with the conclusion!

Now I'm excited to see who else ends up at The Halfway House, in the next book and hopefully get to see some of these amazing characters again!

Highly Recommended! Go download!

I loved the heat between Hunter and Cam from their first meeting and found their kisses at the diner to be as hot as their first weekend together!!

The plot behind the romance was exceptionally well thought out and well executed which gave this novel more depth than most MM romances.

A definite 5* story and I can't wait for the next one - will it be about Jessie and Aiden or Cole and ? or a new character yet to be met - the possibilities for The Men of Halfway House series are endless ......

The only thing I ask of Ms Reese is, whilst I can't wait for the next instalment, please don't fall into the trap of so many book series and end up writing one dimensional stories about one dimensional characters - I would much rather prefer to wait to experience another novel of the same high quality as your first two books, than have a quick succession of pale imitations!

This is the second book in The Men of Halfway House series and although it can be read as standalone I strongly suggest you read the first book, A Better Man which sets up the series.

After reading the first book I knew I was into something special and I am finding this series is even more amazing the further I get into the Halfway House world. This book was off the charts special for me, I absolutely ADORED everything about it. From the plotline, the suspense, the romance, the hotness – EVERYTHING!

Cameron Pierce is a young man who was wrongly convicted for a murder that happened over ten years ago. Obviously, living through a nightmare such as this was has left Cameron with huge issues and he is now closed off from others and nobody is let in his secret self. His past and the years inside the rotting hell of prison has taken everything away from him that he has built a super enforced wall around himself. He is a man beyond hope but little does he know the magic of Halfway House was to bring to him upon his release and the fated meeting with Hunter Donovan.

Hunter Donavan is the sexy Assistant DA, who at reaching the age of forty feels he is missing out on something with his lonely life that is all one sided with his busy career. His one treat each day is a cookie from the local diner. It was on one such visit he first sets his eyes on Cameron behind the counter and the intensity of that meeting was the beautiful start of a wondrous meeting of hearts and minds.

The relationship build-up of Cam and Hunter was a fabulous experience to read with the sizzling hot looks, the yearning, the pent up frustrations suddenly exploding with a knee shaking hot and luscious kiss!
